TLC TAKES VIEWERS TO A HIGHER LEVEL WITH ALL-NEW SERIES "LONG ISLAND MEDIUM"

New Series Premieres on Sunday, September 25 at 10pm ET/PT

(New York, NY) - Theresa Caputo seems like your average mom from Long Island, NY. She takes care of her husband and two children, runs errands, goes to work every day, but also happens to have a very special gift... she talks to the dead. On Sunday, September 25 at 10pm ET/PT, TLC will premiere LONG ISLAND MEDIUM, a new series that follows real-life psychic medium Theresa Caputo as she takes clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. As a psychic medium, Theresa has an ability that most people can't comprehend. She spends her days helping individuals find closure and connects people to their loved ones who have passed in order to validate that they are still with them. For Theresa, this is not just her job, this is her life, as she tries to balance the past with the present on a daily basis. TLC has ordered eight half-hour episodes of LONG ISLAND MEDIUM.

In each episode of LONG ISLAND MEDIUM, Theresa's work/ life balance is put to the test as she juggles her readings and her family. Her husband Larry and children Victoria and Larry have learned to live with Theresa's mediumship, but it is certainly trying on their relationships. They believe that in the Caputo house, spirits are always coming first. But for Theresa, there is no "turning off" her gift. Whether she is grocery shopping or getting her nails done, someone from the other side is constantly trying to contact her to pass a message on. Each episode also focuses on Theresa as she conducts private and group readings, with both believers and skeptics. As she goes about her day, Theresa is also compelled to spontaneously give messages to people anywhere she goes. Her entire existence is chronicled with managing the hopes of complete strangers and the daily trials of regular life, bringing about new challenges for her each and every day. Between the spirit world and our world, there is Theresa's world, where she is simply trying to strike a happy medium between her family life, work like, and the afterlife.

Meet the Caputos:

Theresa Caputo: Theresa Caputo was born and raised on Long Island in Hicksville, NY. She has been married to her husband Larry for 22 years and has two children, Larry and Victoria. Theresa has been a practicing medium for 10 years and is a certified medium with the Forever-Family Foundation - an organization dedicated to connecting science with the afterlife. Theresa describes the process of receiving information as "feeling" spirits. She sees shadows and hears voices, but the overwhelming process is the sensory feeling and presence of those wishing to get messages across. Those who have witnessed her readings will attest to her "rapid fire" style and the abundance of significant evidence and messages. In seven short years of practicing mediumship professionally, Theresa has earned an extensive following in the New York area. With a yearlong waiting list, Theresa's clients are holding on to every glimpse of hope for a cancellation just so she can read them sooner. It doesn't matter where she is or who she is with, Theresa Caputo is likely to be helping someone through her psychic ability. She is so undeniably good at her craft that skeptics become believers and believers are in total disbelief.

Larry Caputo has been happily married to Theresa for 22 years. He is 55 years old and retired. He just recently sold his imported food business. He lives in Hicksville, NY with his two children Larry, 21 and Victoria, 17. He enjoys all sports, has been playing hockey for over 25 years and coaches his son's hockey team. He is a huge NY Rangers fan and motorcycle enthusiast. He despises the cold weather and loves the summer. He enjoys traveling, water skiing, boating and fishing. Larry loves his wife and wouldn't change one thing about her gift.

Lawrence Giacomo Caputo is 21 years old and works at Syosset Woodbury Park on Long Island where he helps manage the landscaping, rules and regulations of the park. He is currently a communications major with a concentration in film and television production at the College of Mount Saint Vincent. He is captain of the men's lacrosse team, vice president of the communications honors society, treasurer of the media club, senator of the class, and a skyline student athlete for three years running. He also likes to play various sports such as flag football, stickball, basketball, and hockey. He thinks his mom is like a superhero with her abilities.

Victoria Caputo is Theresa's 17 year-old daughter. She is a senior in high school and has been doing gymnastics for 12 years. She competes throughout the entire United States and is looking forward to competing in college. Besides school and gymnastics, shopping and tanning are Victoria's other two passions.Victoria has been dealing with her mom's gift since she was a little kid. She still can't understand how her mom cannot turn it off but has learned to live with it.

LONG ISLAND MEDIUM is produced by Magilla Entertainment for TLC.
