ANN OF HOLLYWOOD (ABC, New!) - Carol Wolper's upcoming novel, billed as "a contemporary reinvention of Philippa Gregory's 'The Other Boleyn Girl,'" is being eyed as a potential drama by the Alphabet. Wolper will pen the adaptation, which "takes the Tudors and puts them in modern-day Los Angeles [and envisions] Anne Boleyn a modern frame as a woman in her late twenties who is smart, witty, and just a cut above her contemporaries." Warner Bros. Television is behind the hour, with John Wells also executive producing. (Deadline.com)

THE CARRIE DIARIES (The CW) - The proposed "Sex and the City" prequel has officially found a home at The CW. Amy Harris is spearheading the project, which is based on Candace Bushnell's recent book about Carrie Bradshaw's senior year of high school in a small New England town. Fake Empire's Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage and Len Goldstein then are executive producing for Warner Bros. Television alongside Bushnell and Harris. (Deadline.com)

CONVERGENCE (FOX, New!) - Jason Rothenberg (The CW's "The Body Politic") has snagged a script order from the network for a new drama about "a brilliant but undisciplined mythology professor who, in the wake of a personal and professional scandal, moves his family from NYC to Charlevoix, the small Michigan hometown of his family practitioner wife." Warner Bros. Television-based Wonderland Sound and Vision is behind the hour with the company's McG and Peter Johnson also serving as executive producers. (Deadline.com)

EASY RAWLINS (NBC, New!) - Ezekiel "Easy" Rawlins, the African-American hero of Walter Mosley's best-selling novels, is set to be the focus of a period drama at the Peacock. Warner Bros. Television and studio-based producer John Wells are behind the hour, which Mosley will pen alongside Cheo Coker ("Southland"). Said effort then will revolve around the "reluctant, self-taught P.I. with a conscience and a soul - and he easily slips between white Los Angeles and the black underground." The news marks the third such effort to bring Rawlins to the small screen: ABC tried in 1999 with director Thomas Carter and writer David Mills with USA taking a stab in 2004 from producers Mosley and Anne-Marie Mackay. (Deadline.com)

HOUSE CALLS (ABC, New!) - Tom Donaghy ("The Whole Truth") is developing a new drama at the Alphabet about "a doctor who quits his successful hospital practice after a scandal rocks his family and starts making house calls." Warner Bros. Television-based Wonderland Sound and Vision is behind the hour with the company's McG and Peter Johnson also serving as executive producers. (Deadline.com)

HOT MESS (CBS, New!) - Nicholas Stoller ("Get Him to the Greek") is on track for a put pilot order from the Eye for a rare single-camera comedy about "a guy who gets his heart broken by his girlfriend and now has to work one cubicle away from her." 20th Century Fox Television and Chernin Entertainment are behind the half-hour, which Stoller will write, direct and executive produce alongside the latter's principals Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope. (Deadline.com)

HUSTLE (The CW, New!) - Jeremy Miller and Dan Cohn ("Entourage") are developing a new drama at the netlet about "five highly skilled people in their mid-twenties who come together when asked by the FBI to go undercover in order to combat youth-oriented crimes in Los Angeles." Warner Bros. Television-based Wonderland Sound and Vision is behind the hour with the company's McG and Peter Johnson also serving as executive producers. (Deadline.com)

TOM CLANCY'S HOMELAND SECURITY (TNT, New!) - Tom Clancy is developing a new drama at the cable channel about "a select team of domestic intelligence operatives against all enemies, both within the country and outside." Javier Grillo-Marxuach will pen the potential hour and executive produce alongside Clancy, Chris George and agent-turned-producer Michael Ovitz. TNT Productions is producing. (Variety.com)

UNTITLED BEN WEXLER PROJECT (TBS, New!) - Ben Wexler, Ross Novie and Jay Rondot ("Secret Girlfriend") have booked a comedy pilot at the cable channel about "a family man who quits his day job and returns to the neighborhood where he grew up." Warner Horizon Television and Conan O'Brien's Conaco banner are behind the project, which O'Brien, Jeff Ross and David Kissinger will executive produce alongside Novie, Rondot and showrunner Wexler. Production on the multi-camera half-hour will begin later this year. (THR.com)

UNTITLED BILL LAWRENCE PROJECT (FOX, New!) - "Cougar Town" co-creator Bill Lawrence has booked another pilot production commitment, this time at FOX. The untitled single-camera comedy, which Lawrence will write, direct and executive produce, "centers on a father-son relationship" and is said to be inspired by Lawrence's real-life experiences. Said development comes on the heels of CBS likewise committing to a pilot from an untitled workplace comedy from Lawrence and Greg Malins. Warner Bros Television is the studio attached. (Deadline.com)

UNTITLED JENNA BANS PROJECT (ABC, New!) - "Off the Map's" Jenna Bans, Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers are set to re-team for a new drama about "a high-powered Minneapolis lawyer who gets fired (under mysterious circumstances) and starts his own firm as a defense attorney, accompanied by an eclectic batch of colleagues." Bans will pen the ABC Studios-based hour and executive produce alongside Shondaland's Rhimes and Beers. (Variety.com)

UNTITLED MICHAEL OATES PALMER PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Michael Oates Palmer ("Rubicon") has booked a potential drama at the Peacock about "the irrepressible American ambassador in a completely corrupt, dysfunctional, yet beautiful Eastern Europe country." Warner Bros. Television-based Wonderland Sound and Vision is behind the hour with the company's McG and Peter Johnson also serving as executive producers. (Deadline.com)

YOU WON'T EVEN KNOW I'M HERE (A.K.A. UNTITLED JIM BELUSHI PROJECT) (ABC) - The Alphabet has closed a deal to land the proposed Jim Belushi-led comedy, about "a father and his teenage daughter whose relationship is turned upside down when they face what is described as a 'unique situation.'" Diane English is behind the multi-camera half-hour, which has a put pilot commitment and comes from ABC Studios and Brillstein Entertainment Partners. (Variety.com)

AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Cheryl Ladd will guest star as Ducky's (David McCallum) love interest on "NCIS" (EW.com); Wentworth Miller will visit "House" as an altruistic patient of the week (TVLine.com); Annie Wersching will appear on "Hawaii Five-0" as the sister of a murder victim whose death the team is investigating (TVGuide.com); plus Neil Marshall, Alan Taylor, David Nutter, Alik Sakharov and David Petrarca are among the directors set for season two of "Game of Thrones" (Deadline.com).
