NEW YORK, NY - September 15, 2011 - The 2011 NCLR ALMA Awards taped a star-studded event on Saturday, September 10 at Santa Monica Civic Auditorium delivering the biggest night on television showcasing Latinos. The awards program airs FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16 at 8 pm ET on NBC.
The NCLR ALMA Awards show is dedicated to honoring the spirit and accomplishments of some of the most prolific Latinos in the entertainment industry, spanning music, television, and film. Co-hosted by Eva Longoria and George Lopez, the telecast celebrated the entertainers who have upheld and promoted a fair, positive, and accurate image of Hispanic culture in today's media.
Two other important NBCUniversal media assets -- Telemundo and mun2 -- have joined NBC in celebrating the ALMA Awards across all its platforms. Telemundo News has featured highlights of the star-studded event and mun2 will re-broadcast the awards show at a later date. In addition, Telemundo.com is the "Official" ALMA Awards site offering exclusive behind the scenes content from rehearsals and backstage, as well as extensive coverage from the red carpet. mun2 will also produce a two-hour special as part of its weekly music variety show "18 & Over" from the ALMA Awards red carpet, spotlighting the fashion, star arrivals and showcasing some of the biggest music videos of the year. The "18 & Over" pre-awards show special will air Friday Sept 16th from 6-8 pm and mun2.tv is currently previewing the "18 & Over" ALMA Awards special online.
The executive producers of the NCLR ALMA Awards are Bob Bain, Eva Longoria, and Janet Murgu�a. NBCUniversal and its parent company, Comcast, which has had a national partnership with NCLR since 2006, played a key role as creative partners and investors in the production of the awards show.
