GSN (GAME SHOW NETWORK) SHOWS ITS SMARTS: NETWORK ACQUIRES "ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?(R)" FROM MARK BURNETT & TWENTIETH TELEVISION

FIRST-EVER CABLE RIGHTS TO ONE-HOUR EPISODES

Hosted by Jeff Foxworthy, Series Will Air in Five-Hour Blocks Every Sunday Night, Premiering Sunday, November 6th at 7:00 PM (ET)

Santa Monica, CA - October 19, 2011 - GSN (Game Show Network) announced today that it has acquired the first-ever cable rights to 90 one-hour episodes of ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?(R) from Mark Burnett and Twentieth Television. Hosted by Jeff Foxworthy, the episodes - featuring celebrity appearances by Kellie Pickler, Rick Fox, Tony Hawk, Larry the Cable Guy and Gene Simmons, among others - originally aired on FOX from Spring 2007 to Fall 2009 and have never before been seen outside that network. The humor-filled quiz show, in which an adult contestant tries to answer questions from elementary school textbooks, will air in five-hour blocks on Sunday nights from 7:00 p.m. to midnight (ET) on GSN. ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER? premieres on GSN on Sunday, November 6th at 7:00 p.m. (ET).

From Mark Burnett, ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER? demonstrates exactly how much adults have forgotten since their elementary school days. Art? Math? Social Studies? It's all up on the chalkboard again as an adult contestant attempts to answer questions based on material from elementary school textbooks, with questions increasing in difficulty from first-grade to fifth-grade content. Along the way, the contestant can receive assistance from one member of a panel of grade school-aged "classmates." With some luck and lots of smarts, the contestant could take home the maximum prize of $1,000,000 - but if he or she answers a question incorrectly and the game ends, the contestant must admit "I'm not smarter than a 5th grader."

Show host Jeff Foxworthy is one of the most respected and successful comedians in the country. Besides his successful hosting duties on ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?, Foxworthy is the largest selling comedy-recording artist in history, a multiple Grammy(R) Award nominee and the best-selling author of 11 books. Widely known for his redneck jokes, his act goes well beyond that to explore the humor in everyday family interactions and human nature.
