SPIKE TV HIRES ALEX EASTBURG AS VICE PRESIDENT, ORIGINAL SERIES
LOS ANGELES, October 27, 2011 - Spike TV has named Alex Eastburg vice president, original series, it was announced today by Sharon Levy, executive vice president, original series and animation. Eastburg is based in the network's California offices and comes to Spike TV from his previous jaunt as co-executive producer of "Car Lot Cowboy."
In this newly created position, Eastburg will report to Tim Duffy, senior vice president of original series and be responsible for overseeing development of the network's non-scripted series.
"We're thrilled to add Alex's talents to our team," said Levy. "We have worked extensively with him on a number of projects and we've always felt his vision and energy lines up perfectly with our Spike goals. We look forward to having him play an instrumental part in developing programming that resonates with our audience."
Eastburg joins the Spike team with extensive years of experience under his belt on the production side, most recently serving as co-executive producer on "Car Lot Cowboy." He has also served as co-executive producer on two seasons of the critically-acclaimed Spike TV series "DEA" from Al Roker Entertaiment, the TLC hit "Sarah Palin's Alaska" and Tru TV's "Tiger Team." Other projects of which Eastburg played a producer role include Spike TV's "Scrappers" and "Surviving Disaster," HD Net's "Geek to Freak with Dennis Rodman" and several Discovery Channel series, including "Dirty Jobs," "American Chopper" and "American Hot Rod." Eastburg also wrote and produced the short film, "I Am Stamos," which won both the Audience Award for Best Short Film at the Gen Art Film Festival and the San Diego Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival Award for Best Humor/Parody Film. Born and raised in Vernon Hills, IL, Eastburg graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelors Degree in Cinema/Television. He has lived in the Los Angeles area for seventeen years.
