National Geographic Channel Announces New Series "Bid & Destroy" From the Producers of "Pawn Stars"

12-Part Series from Leftfield Pictures to Premiere Later This Year

WASHINGTON, March 26, 2012 -- National Geographic Channel today announced the start of production on the new series Bid & Destroy from Leftfield Pictures, the producers of Pawn Stars.

Bid & Destroy gives viewers an unprecedented look into the cutthroat, rough and demanding world of demolition, by following the crew of New Hampshire's "Danley Demo" as they bid to take on jobs throughout New England.

Every day is a huge gamble as the company "blind bids" on residential and commercial jobs; whether they make or lose money depends on the treasures they find inside the structures.

Once they win a bid, the entire Danley team races against the clock to knock the property to the ground by their deadline. Jobs may range from small homes and old warehouses to shopping malls and abandoned mansions. But before they raze a structure, they must scour the property for valuables that can potentially bring in big money. This may include strategically removing thousands of dollars worth of industrial equipment from an abandoned factory just before teardown, or raiding a Victorian mansion with antique firearms left in the attic.

"This greenlight is part of an exciting new slate driven by fascinating characters and their compelling stories," said Michael Cascio, executive vice president of production for the National Geographic Channels. "By partnering with great storytellers, like Leftfield Pictures, we're committed to weaving a narrative that's innovative, authentic and fun. Bid & Destroy does just that with memorable characters who share an unfiltered and unique look into the high-pressure world of demolition."

Executive Producer Brent Montgomery said, "Bid & Destroy combines the excitement of a race against time with the 'hidden treasures' genre of television which continues to fascinate viewers - all told through the eyes of the dynamic and quirky team that makes up 'Danley Demo.' We're excited to be bringing this intense and fun series to NatGeo."

Bid & Destroy is executive-produced by Leftfield Pictures' Montgomery and David George. For National Geographic Channel, executive producer is Michael Welsh, vice president of production and development is Kevin Mohs, and executive vice president of programming is Michael Cascio.
