Kate Flannery of "The Office" Signs-on as Host of New Stand-up Series

LOS ANGELES (March 28, 2012) - TV Guide Network has laughs in-store for TV viewers as it prepares to launch new comedy programming featuring Hollywood stars, including "StandUp in Stilettos," an original stand-up series hosted by Kate Flannery ("The Office"), and "Rove LA," the wildly popular Australian talk show hosted by award-winning comedian Rove McManus. "StandUp in Stilettos" begins casting immediately with production slated for late-April and will premiere on TV Guide Network on Saturday, June 16 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. "Rove LA" will premiere in the U.S. exclusively on TV Guide Network on Saturday, July 21 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. The show currently airs on Australia's most watched cable channel FOX8.

"We are continuing to invest in original series and exclusive programming that will draw entertainment fans closer to their favorite stars," said Allen Shapiro, Chairman of TV Guide Network. "'StandUp in Stilettos' and 'Rove LA' will offer viewers fresh comedy programming with some of the best-known celebrities in Hollywood today, as well as up-and-coming talent."

"StandUp in Stilettos" will include 10 original half-hour episodes featuring familiar faces and rising stars on the comedy circuit today. Hosted by Kate Flannery, each show will include three stand-up comediennes whose acts feature material for, by and about women. The show will be shot in front of a live audience set in a comedy club. Flannery is best known for playing Dunder Mifflin's alcoholic, accident prone, Meredith Palmer on NBC's award-winning "The Office." Flannery has made numerous appearances on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and has been a guest on all the late night talk shows including "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and "Chelsea Lately." A former member of Second City's National Tour Co., she is an original member of Chicago's Annoyance Theater where she co-created over 15 shows, including "The Miss Vagina Pageant" and "The Real Live Brady Bunch," which played in over 30 cities and at the Kennedy Center. Kate is also known for being one half of the cult comedy lounge act "The Lampshades," which performs regularly to sold out audiences across the country. "StandUp in Stilettos" will be produced by TV Guide Network.

"Rove LA" is a one-hour weekly talk show hosted by Australia's king of talk, Rove McManus, who has interviewed Hollywood's biggest stars for more than ten years running. Ten episodes of the never-before-seen in the U.S. television series, "Rove LA," will air on TV Guide Network starting in summer 2012 and will feature such stars as Justin Timberlake, Hugh Jackman, Eva Longoria, Steve Carell, Pink and Lisa Kudrow.
