New York, NY - March 30, 2012 - On the heels of an incredibly successful season of "The Challenge," MTV announced today that it has picked up a 23rd season of its hit competition reality series. "The Challenge: Battle of the Exes" pitted pairs of former lovers against each other, forcing them to endure added emotional pressure, get past their issues, and work together in pursuit of the ultimate prize. This past season is the most-watched "Challenge" in seven seasons, averaging nearly two million viewers each week. In addition, MTV announced an unprecedented 28th season of its groundbreaking reality franchise, "The Real World." The two most recent editions of MTV's flagship series delivered the franchise's best season average ("The Real World: Las Vegas") and highest-rated debut ("The Real World: San Diego") in five seasons. MTV is currently shooting the 27th season, "The Real World: St. Thomas," which will premiere later this year.
