NBC'S "THE VOICE" IS SET TO LAUNCH A NEW VOTING APP FOR FACEBOOK TIMELINE

Beginning April 2, Fans Will Be Able to Vote, Share, Connect and Discover New Content from the Music Competition Show with Their Friends Creating a Unique Social Experience

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - March 30, 2012 - Beginning April 2, when NBC's hit music competition series "The Voice" (Mondays, 8-10 p.m. ET and Tuesdays, 9-10 p.m. ET) goes live, fans of the show will be able to vote for their favorite artists via a new app that people can add to their Facebook timeline. The app, which enables people to share their viewing and voting with their friends, creates one of the first truly social voting options for any network competition series while providing a deeply engaging experience for fans.

The timeline app was announced today by Vivi Zigler, President, NBC Universal Digital Entertainment, and Justin Osofksy, Director of Platform Partnerships at Facebook.

"What better show to launch a new Facebook timeline experience with than 'The Voice'?" said Zigler, "This app gives our already socially savvy fans another way to connect and share. From declaring their favorite artist to discovering friends' preferences to interacting with more content, the app creates a fully social online voting experience."

With the timeline app, fans will be able to show their support for their favorite teams and artists by casting their vote each week, connecting with their friends and other viewers, tracking their artists and seeing if they made it to the next round. The new app also will allow them to discover new content, including performance videos and blogs. Additionally, people using the Facebook app on their iPhone, iPad and Android devices will also be able to engage with "The Voice" timeline voting app.

"We've always watched and talked about TV shows with friends and family," said Osofsky. "The Voice's timeline app for Facebook will make it easy for people to do this online, enabling fans to vote for their favorite singers and share their votes with friends."

Since its February 5 debut, "The Voice" has averaged a 6.9 rating in adults 18-49 and 17.8 million viewers overall in "most current" averages from Nielsen Media Research, and has ranked either #1 or #2 among primetime series programs for the last eight weeks in a row in 18-49. In "live plus same day" results for its regular Monday time period, "The Voice" has tripled what NBC was averaging in the slot earlier this season prior to "The Voice" in 18-49 rating (5.6 vs. 1.8) and has generated a time-period improvement of more than 9.4 million persons in total viewers (15.0 million vs. 5.6 million). This week's telecast ranked #1 among all Monday primetime programming in adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, out-rating ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" head to head by a 41 percent margin in 18-49 rating (4.5 vs. 3.2).

"The Voice," which Rolling Stone calls "TV's most exciting music show," returned on February 5 with the strongest vocalists from across the country invited to compete in the blockbuster vocal competition. Celebrity musician coaches Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton also returned, along with Carson Daly as host. Christina Milian joined this season as Social Media Correspondent.

"The Voice" is a presentation of Mark Burnett's One Three Inc., Talpa Content USA, Inc. and Warner Horizon Television. The series is created by John de Mol, who executive-produces along with Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Stijn Bakkers and Lee Metzger.
