DRAMA SERIES CHARTS THE VOLATILE AND LIFE CHANGING RELATIONSHIPS OF SEVEN FRIENDS OVER 40 YEARS

BBC AMERICA's Dramaville presents US premiere of White Heat, starring ensemble cast including Sam Claflin, Claire Foy and MyAnna Buring

White Heat, the next instalment of BBC AMERICA's Dramaville, charts the lives of seven friends from 1965 through to present day. The stylish and suspenseful drama, straddling almost five decades, follows lives, loves and destinies shaped by the political events of each era, connecting the dots of their relationships born, bound and broken over time and ultimately reunited after the death of one of them. White Heat premieres Wednesday, May 9, 10:00pm ET/PT as part of Dramaville.

Their relationships - complex, volatile, life affirming and life changing - are first formed when they come together as flatmates in London's Tufnell Park. The diverse group of young students includes rebel with a cause Jack (Sam Claflin, Snow White and the Huntsman), ambitious feminist Charlotte (Claire Foy, Upstairs Downstairs), fragile beauty Lilly (MyAnna Buring, The Twilight Saga), compassionate medical student Jay (Reece Ritchie, The Lovely Bones), love-struck geek Alan (Lee Ingleby, Luther), Jamaican-born-and-bred law student Victor (David Gyasi, Law and Order: UK) and kind-hearted Orla (Jessica Gunning, Law & Order: UK).

Their interwoven personal lives play out against the backdrop of defining points of the developing eras - the death of Churchill, the union strife of the Seventies, the ascendancy of Thatcher, the Falklands, AIDS, the end of the Cold War - crucial events which shaped history and made these seven individuals the people they are today.

White Heat follows the critically acclaimed crime thriller, Whitechapel, continuing BBC AMERICA's Dramaville, which features groundbreaking British drama and is also the home to the Golden Globe(R)-winning mini-series Luther, Golden Globe(R)-nominated mini-series The Hour and the upcoming drama series Ripper Street. Following White Heat, Dramaville presents the four-part drama, Inside Men, premiering Wednesday, June 20, 10:00pm ET/PT.
