Syfy Books "The Philadelphia Experiment" for Saturday, July 28

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- Syfy will debut its original movie "The Philadelphia Experiment" on Saturday, July 28 at 9:00/8:00c, bookings from the network have confirmed.

Nicholas Lea, Michael Pare, Ryan Robbins, Gina Holden, Emilie Ullerup and Malcolm McDowell star in the film, about "a secret government research project [that] tries reviving the World War II 'Philadelphia Experiment,' which was an attempt to create a cloaking device to render warships invisible." Cinetel Films is behind the project, which was directed by Paul Ziller and written by Andy Briggs.

Also on tap next month is "True Bloodthirst" (formerly known as "Vampyre Nation") on Saturday, July 14 at 9:00/8:00c. Said effort - starring Andrew Lee Potts, Ben Lambert, Neil Jackson and Claudia Bassols - is set in a not-too-distant future in which a synthetic blood substitute, dispensed by the Romanian government, allows humans and vampires to potentially co-exist.
