PARIAH (NBC, New!) - Kevin Fox ("Lie to Me") has booked a new drama at the Peacock in which "the Mayor of San Diego appoints a rogue academic with no law enforcement background to run a task force using alternative methods of policing." Said effort, from Lionsgate Television, features characters inspired by Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner's book "Freakonomics." Kelsey Grammer, Stella Stolper and Brian Sher of Grammnet Productions will also serve as executive producers alongside Fox with Levitt and Dubner also receiving producing credits. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED JOSS WHEDON PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Joss Whedon has signed an exclusive deal with Marvel Studios for film and television through the end of June 2015. Said pact calls for Whedon to write and direct "The Avengers 2" as well as, according to a statement from the company, "help develop a new live action series for Marvel Television at ABC. He will also contribute creatively to the next phase of Marvel's cinematic universe."(Deadline.com)
