LOS ANGELES, September 23, 2012 - HISTORY(R) continues its phenomenal momentum as HATFIELDS & MCCOYS wins two 2011-2012 Emmy(R) Awards from The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS) during the 64th Primetime EMMY Awards presentation held on Sunday, September 23, at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. This makes a total of five EMMY awards for the hit miniseries, the most Primetime EMMY wins in the network's history.

HISTORY Won EMMY Awards in the Following Categories:

Outstanding Lead Actor in Miniseries or A Movie - Kevin Costner

Outstanding Supporting Actor in A Miniseries or A Movie - Tom Berenger

Additionally, HISTORY won three Creative Arts Primetime Emmy Awards in the categories of Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Miniseries Or A Movie; Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing For A Miniseries Or A Movie and Outstanding Makeup For A Miniseries Or A Movie (Non-Prosthetic).

The three nights of HATFIELDS & MCCOYS became the top three entertainment telecasts of all time on ad supported cable among total viewers. Over 62 million viewers tuned into the miniseries over the course of the week. HATFIELDS & MCCOYS averaged an incredible 17.1 million total viewers, 8 million Adults 25-54 and 6.7 million Adults 18-49. The 6.7 million Adult 18-49 impressions average make it the highest rated miniseries or movie on cable on record.

HATFIELDS & MCCOYS is the true American story of a legendary family feud - one that spanned decades and nearly launched a war between Kentucky and West Virginia. HATFIELDS & MCCOYS, a new three-part, six-hour scripted miniseries, showcasing an all-star cast headed up by Academy(R) Award winner Kevin Costner and Golden Globe(R) nominee Bill Paxton star as Devil Anse Hatfield and Randall McCoy, respectively. The miniseries aired on May 28, 29 and 30, at 9 p.m. on HISTORY(R).

Joining Costner and Paxton were Golden Globe(R) winner Tom Berenger as Jim Vance, Devil Anse's "Uncle Jim," the firebrand warlord of the Hatfield family; Emmy(R) Award winner Powers Boothe as Wall Hatfield, Devil Anse's level-headed, fair-minded older brother, who was the local (West Virginia) justice of the peace and judge; and Academy(R) Award-nominated, Emmy(R) Award-winning Mare Winningham as Sally McCoy, wife of Randall McCoy and the family matriarch who loses four sons, a daughter and her own sanity in the feud.
