NEW YORK, Sept. 25, 2012 -- T.J. Miller and friends are bringing a whole new style of stand-up to Comedy Central with the series premiere of "Mash Up," on Tuesday night, October 9, at 12:30 a.m. ET/PT.
Hosted by Miller, and featuring stand-up performances from some of today's hottest comedians, "Mash Up" is a unique new half-hour series that combines stand-up with stylized visualizations, enhancing the jokes and creating a completely new experience in stand-up. In addition, "Mash Up" features exciting sketch comedy and animation segments around the theme of mismatched topics coming together for hilarious results. Comedians featured over the eight-episode run include Hannibal Buress, Bryan Callen, Deon Cole, Chris D'Elia, Jon Dore, Sean Flannery, Erin Foley, Chris Hardwick, Pete Holmes, Jared Logan, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Jonah Ray, Tom Segura, CJ Sullivan, Nick Vatterott, and Reggie Watts.
In the premiere episode, Buress explains what it's like to be the victim of a late-night "passive burglary," Logan imagines his role in a superhero movie, and Miller does his best to help a hip hop ghost get closure, all recreated in hilarious segments. Also featured is a musical "Word Mashup" of "Bad Boys," Boyz II Men, and "Men in Black," which becomes "Bad BOYZ II MEN In Black," guest starring Nick Cannon.
The "Mash Up" Web site will feature preview and highlight clips from each episode, behind the scenes photos and videos, and a twitter module displaying original word 'mash-up' tweets from fans using the hashtag #ccmashup as part of a weekly contest.
Each episode of "Mash Up" will be made available the day after air in HD for download-to-own on iTunes, Zune Video Marketplace on Xbox, Amazon Instant Video and Vudu.
