Digitally-Driven Iconic Fashion Series Debuts Today with Supermodel Hosts Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls
"House of Style: Music, Models and MTV" Documentary to Make Televised Premiere on MTV on December 1
NEW YORK - (Oct. 16, 2012) - MTV today debuted the first installment of its highly anticipated House of Style series reboot on MTV Style, with world-renowned supermodels Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls serving as hosts. The new digitally-driven series will extend across television, digital, mobile and social and be part fashion history, a study of fashion present and a projection of fashion future. MTV will premiere new episodes of the digitally driven series each week. To celebrate the launch of the new series, "House of Style: Music, Models and MTV" documentary will make its televised premiere on December 1 on MTV.

Each week, House of Style hosts Kloss and Smalls will guide viewers from city streets around the world to the mania backstage at fashion shows, from inside viewers' own bedrooms to the sprawling on-set wardrobes of pop star video shoots. With digital platforms serving as the starting gate for all activity, House of Style will chronicle how the fashion industry has evolved alongside technology innovations to bring a community together. House of Style will explore the symbiotic relationship between music and fashion, take fans behind the curtain to meet designers, and explore new trends.
During the series premiere, Kloss and Smalls take fans behind the scenes and on the stages of Paris Fashion week where they interview an eclectic mix of fashion and music elite including Jean Paul Gaultier, Stella McCartney, MIA and Alexander Wang. Fans will be able to watch extended play interviews.
To celebrate the series kickoff, "House of Style: Music, Models and MTV" a documentary that tells the story of the iconic series, will make its television premiere on December 1 on MTV. The documentary examines the connection between music and fashion in the 90s, and highlights the influence that 90s style has on today. The doc also charts the rise of the supermodel, the evolution of the designer as mega brand and how fashion became synonymous with pop culture, featuring past and present style icons.
In late July, MTV announced the forthcoming return of the series and launched House of Style 'Collection,' a digital archive, filled with more than 150 clips thousands of still images from legends including supermodel and former host Cindy Crawford, Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, CFDA award-winning designer Marc Jacobs and legendary singer and fashion designer Gwen Stefani, sponsored exclusively by Magnum Ice Cream. In addition to the clips, each piece is accompanied with newly-penned editorial content by MTV Style Senior Editor Mary H.K. Choi, that contextualizes the information for fashion fans past and present.
