LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- Starz has canceled its Kelsey Grammer-led drama "Boss" after two seasons.
"After much deliberation, we have made the difficult decision to not proceed with Boss," the network said in a statement to multiple outlets. "We remain proud of this award-winning show, its exceptional cast and writers, and are grateful to Kelsey Grammer, Farhad Safinia and our partners at Lionsgate TV."
Deadline.com adds that producer Lionsgate Television is in talks with the pay channel for a two-hour movie to wrap up the series.
"Boss" averaged 363,000 viewers during its sophomore run on Fridays at 9:00/8:00c, just shy of newcomer "Magic City" (416,000 on average) and far short of "Spartacus: Vengeance" (1.346 million on average).
