LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- A&E has booked two more premieres for January: "Southie Rules" and "The Killer Speaks."
"The Killer Speaks," a spin-off of network staple "The First 48," will roll out on Thursday, January 10 at 9:00/8:00c. Each episode "gives viewers an inside look into the mind of a killer through the perpetrator's first-hand account." A backdoor pilot special aired back in March, delivering 1.766 million viewers and a 0.8 rating among adults 18-49. ITV Studios America is producing.
"Southie Rules," premiering Tuesday, January 29 at 10:00/9:00c, follows "a wickedly-stubborn South Boston family that is battling the relentless gentrification of their neighborhood that's been overrun with yuppies, sushi restaurants and $5 cups of coffee." The half-hour series, from Powderhouse Productions and Magilla Entertainment, was commissioned back in May.
Said efforts join the previously announced "Storage Wars: New York," which kicks off a three-week, six-episode run on Tuesday, January 1 at 10:00/9:00c (read the story).
