ESPN to Exclusively Present MLB Opening Night: Texas Rangers at Houston Astros
MLB Opening Day on ESPN to Include New-Look Red Sox at Yankees, Defending World Champion Giants at Dodgers
ESPN will begin its 24th Major League Baseball season with an exclusive presentation of MLB Opening Night - Texas Rangers at Houston Astros - on March 31, at 8 p.m. ET. The game will mark Houston's American League debut against their in-state and new division rivals. MLB Opening Night is also available on ESPN Radio, ESPN Deportes, ESPN Mobile TV and WatchESPN. In addition, Baseball Tonight will precede the game with a special two-hour show on ESPN, beginning at 6 p.m., to preview the 2013 MLB season and the historic Opening Night game. MLB Opening Day on ESPN, ESPN2
ESPN and ESPN2 will combine to present four MLB Opening Day games Monday, April 1, beginning with an afternoon doubleheader on ESPN. The Boston Red Sox - led by David Ortiz and Dustin Pedroia - will visit the New York Yankees and Derek Jeter and former Red Sox All-Star Kevin Youkilis at 1 p.m. Additionally, the defending World Champion San Francisco Giants - led by NL MVP Buster Posey - will visit the revamped Los Angeles Dodgers and Matt Kemp at 4 p.m.
ESPN2 will televise a primetime MLB Opening Day doubleheader, starting with the Philadelphia Phillies and Jimmy Rollins visiting the Atlanta Braves and B.J. Upton at 7 p.m. In the nightcap, the St. Louis Cardinals and Carlos Beltran will visit the Arizona Diamondbacks and Cody Ross at 10 p.m. All four MLB Opening Day games are also available via WatchESPN.
