(Silver Spring, MD) - Crime reporter and best-selling author, Aphrodite Jones, is back with a new season of the hit Investigation Discovery series TRUE CRIME WITH APHRODITE JONES, featuring intrepid investigations into headline-making crime stories you thought you knew. Each episode follows Jones as she visits the scene of the crime in question, using her instincts to follow unique and surprising angles to separate truth from rumor behind the lurid headlines. In her investigations, Jones presents compelling evidence and theories that allow viewers to rethink their personal conclusions in some of the most enduring and baffling mysteries of our time.
The new season of TRUE CRIME WITH APHRODITE JONES premieres on Monday, January 7 at 10 PM (E/P) and includes a prison interview with former New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts linebacker, Eric Naposki. In 2012, Naposki was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his lover's millionaire boyfriend in 1994, but he still maintains his innocence. Then on Monday, January 14 at 10 PM (E/P), Jones covers the trial of Casey Anthony, who was acquitted of murdering her toddler, Caylee Anthony, in July 2011. The episode includes interviews with Judge Stan Stickland as well as defense lawyer Jose Baez in a powerful interview that gives viewers incomparable insight into how the defense functioned and, in the end, how they won. Jones also analyzes the details behind what the jury saw that those outside of the courtroom missed in their acquittal of Casey Anthony.
"Our fans love getting to the heart of headline-making cases in TRUE CRIME," said Henry Schleiff, president of Investigation Discovery. "Aphrodite uses her unconventional and unique instincts to expose hard truths about cases that true-crime fans may have been too quick to judge during the media firestorm."
Other cases explored this season include: Stephanie Lazarus, an LAPD detective convicted of murdering newlywed Sheri Rasmussen over jealousy; Narcy Novack, who orchestrated the brutal murders of her husband, Ben Novack, and mother-in-law, Bernice Novack, over their inheritance of Miami's legendary Fountainbleu Hotel; and Wall Street motivational speaker Jeffrey Locker, who had a death wish and whose own murder doubled as a suicide.
