BRAVO MEDIA IS IN SESSION WITH "LA SHRINKS," PREMIERING MONDAY, MARCH 4th AT 10:00 PM ET/PT
New Docu-Series Follows the Professional and Personal Lives of Three Los Angeles Shrinks
NEW YORK - January 23, 2013 - Bravo Media is examining the heads of three high-end shrinks practicing in the heart of Los Angeles with the new docu-series "LA Shrinks," premiering Monday, March 4th at 10:00 PM PT/ET. The series follows the professional lives of Dr. Venus Nicolino, PhD, a sharp-tongued life consultant and mother to four boys, Dr. Gregory Cason, PhD, a psychologist specializing in cognitive therapy and living a "monogamish" life with his partner of 23 years, and Eris Huemer, a relationship therapist who is coming face-to-face with issues in her own marriage. Each episode of "LA Shrinks" will give a fly-on-the-wall look at sessions between the shrinks and their clients as they tackle issues including a homophobic man whose identical twin is gay, a client with intense anger triggered by Los Angeles traffic, a couple with opposite practices in the bedroom and a man with a hatred of people who are overweight. But, after their 50 minutes are over, the docu-series takes a deep dive into the shrinks' personal lives and exposes the often thin line between their clients' problems and their own. Meet The Shrinks
Dr. Venus Nicolino - Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology
Sharp-tongued with a mind to match, Dr. Venus Nicolino (aka, Dr. V) certainly serves up the sass, but when it comes to her clients, Dr. V's code is one of genuine kindness and recognition in the transformative powers of empathy. Using her compassionate understanding of the human condition with an occasional dash of profanity, she tackles the obstacles and joys that make up life. She works with a pair of identical twins to help them face an issue they don't have in common... their sexuality and uses some unconventional methods to help another couple get their sex life back on track. A blue-collar girl at heart, Dr. V now resides in Bel Air with her husband, Matthew, an investment banker, their two sons, ages 3 and 5, and their two nephews, ages 5 and 7, who are now under their permanent guardianship.
Dr. Gregory Cason - Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Greg Cason is a licensed psychologist in Beverly Hills specializing in cognitive therapy not only with individuals and couples, but also with the specialty population of gay men and women. In working with a client with severe anger issues, Dr. Greg gets creative and uses her musicality to channel her outrageous anger into song. Living in West Hollywood with Kevin, his "monogamish" partner of 23 years, Dr. Greg is in the process of beginning to plan their wedding. But, before he can make the commitment to walk down the aisle, he must deal with deep-seated issues from his childhood.
Eris Huemer - M.A., Licensed Therapist
Eris Huemer is an internationally sought after relationship counselor/coach, author, and speaker who specializes in love makeovers with singles and couples. She founded her company after surviving her fair share of excruciating break-ups, but finally married the man of her dreams. Eris helps a former Playboy model with her issues of attracting the wrong kind of men and works with an interracial couple facing deep-rooted relationship intimacy issues. Feeling the pressure of her own relationship issues and the ticking of her biological clock, Eris begins to challenge her hesitant husband, Clayton, about starting a family and soon!
