CMT Names JB and the Moonshine Band as its March LISTEN UP Artist
NASHVILLE - March 4, 2013 - Average Joe's Entertainment's JB and the Moonshine Band is asking fans to call the shots for their upcoming music video for their new single, "The Only Drug," which will premiere Friday, March 15 on CMT as part of a month-long LISTEN UP campaign on the network. Fans can vote via CMT's official Facebook page now through Thursday, March 14 on one of two alternate plot endings, and the winning scene will air in the video's world premiere later this month. JB and the Moonshine Band is CMT's featured LISTEN UP artist for March, which showcases the hottest emerging acts with exclusive performances, photo galleries, interviews and more across CMT properties. Fans can visit www.listenup.cmt.com on Monday, March 11 to catch exclusive new performances from the band, including "Perfect Girl", "Whiskey Days", "Kiss Me that Way" and "Yes."
"We want fans to have an opportunity to decide the ending," said Leslie Fram, SVP of Music Strategy, CMT. "Let's watch what happens."
The East Texas band has released two acclaimed albums - their debut record, Ain't Goin Back to Jail, and their sophomore album, Beer for Breakfast, which was named one of the top five country albums of 2012 by "Rolling Stone Magazine." A talented songwriter, as well as entertainer, JB has written songs that rose to success on the Billboard Texas music charts, and the band is delivering performances across the country that audiences keep coming back for more. To date, JB and the Moonshine Band has sold more than 60,000 digital downloads and earned more than 2.5 million YouTube views. JB Patterson says the band started when he learned he would be a father: "I thought to myself, 'If I'm ever gonna tell my kid that he can be whatever he wants to be, then I'd better at least give this a shot.'" He then held an open-call audition where drummer Gabe Guevara, lead guitarist Hayden McMullen and bass player Chris Flores were the only three musicians that showed up. Their sounds and style happened to be a perfect fit, and JB and the Moonshine Band went from Patterson's dream to a reality. Ain't Goin Back to Jail and Beer for Breakfast are currently available on iTunes. For additional information on JB and the Moonshine Band, visit www.jbandthemoonshineband.com.
