ABOUT A BOY (NBC/Universal; W: Jason Katims; D: Jon Favreau) - Leslie Bibb will guest star on the comedy pilot, based on Nick Hornby's book-turned-film of the same name about the relationship between Will (David Walton), a bachelor man-child and Marcus (Benjamin Stockham), the young boy who moves in next-door with his kooky single mother, Fiona (Minnie Driver). She'll play Dakota, a gorgeous cello player/single mother whom Will follows into her single parents support group. Anjelah N. Johnson also stars. (Deadline.com)
GANG RELATED (FOX/20th; W: Chris Morgan; D: Allen Hughes) - Cliff Curtis ("Missing") has snagged a key role on the drama pilot, about Ryan Lopez (Ramon Rodriguez), a gang member sent in to infiltrate the San Francisco Police Department only to be caught between his crime family ties and an increasing sense of loyalty to his new brothers in blue. He'll play Javier Acosta ("a natural leader of men"), the head of La Familia Sud, who came up with the idea to send Ryan into the SFPD. Also starring are Inbar Lavi, Jay Hernandez, RZA and Sung Kang. HUNDRED, THE (The CW/Warner Bros.; W: Jason Rothenberg; D: Bharat Nalluri) - Paige Turco ("Person of Interest") is the latest addition to the pilot, a post-apocalyptic drama about 100 juvenile delinquents that are sent from the remnants of the multi-ringed space stations that are all that left of humanity to the surface of a wildly changed Earth as a test for recolonization. She'll play Councillor Abigail Walters ("an air of seriousness that comes from authority"), a medical officer whose daughter Clarke (Eliza Taylor) is among the group. Bob Morley, Eli Goree, Henry Ian Cusick and Marie Avgeropoulos also star. (Deadline.com)
LIST, THE (FOX/20th; W: Paul Zbyszewski; D: Ruben Fleischer) - Tamsin Egerton ("Camelot") is the latest addition to the drama pilot, about Dan Soto (Michael Peña), an Inspector with the U.S. Marshal Service who's tasked with finding the person who stole a file with the secret identities of every member of the Witness Security Program. She's on board as psychologist Maddy ("attractive, dressed professionally, a confident spring in her step"), Dan's ex-wife and mother of their two kids, Dylan and Sunny. Charity Wakefield, Gary Cole, Jessica Szohr and Richard T. Jones also star. (Deadline.com)
MCCARTHYS, THE (CBS/Sony; W: Brian Gallivan; D: Fred Savage) - Comedian Jimmy Dunn will round out the cast of the comedy pilot, about a sports-crazed Irish-Catholic family that shares a three decker house in Boston and the one member, Ronny (Jake Lacy), that dares to move out on his own. He'll play fellow son Sean ("dim, tall, chubby"), a former star athlete, but the only thing he's maintained is his upbeat attitude. Jack McGee, Jacki Weaver, Jessica Chaffin and Joey McIntyre also star in the single-camera project. (Deadline.com)
MIXOLOGY (ABC/ABC Studios; W: Jon Lucas & Scott Moore; D: Larry Charles) - Sarah Bolger ("Once Upon a Time") is the latest to board the pilot, about five guys and five girls trying to find love at Mix, a trendy Manhattan bar, over the course of one night. She'll play New Jersey transplant Janey, the kid sister of Alexis Carra's Jessica, who's ready for a big night in the city. Adam Campbell, Andrew Santino, Blake Lee, Craig Frank, Kate Simses, Mercedes Masohn and Vanessa Lengies also star. (Deadline.com)
ORDAINED, THE (CBS/CTS; W: Lisa Takeuchi Cullen; D: R.J. Cutler) - Hope Davis ("The Newsroom") is the latest addition to the drama pilot, about Tom Reilly (Charlie Cox), the son of a Kennedy-esque family who leaves the priesthood and becomes a lawyer to prevent his politician sister from being assassinated. She'll play said sister, Patricia Mary Reilly ("a merry lass with a bleeding heart and a spine of steel"), the mayor of New York City. When a penitent tells Tom about said plot during confession, he's legally and ethically bound from saying anything. His only choice: leave the priesthood, dust off his law degree and investigate on his own. Audra McDonald, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Jorge Garcia, Nestor Serrano and Sam Neill also star. (Deadline.com)
RAKE (FOX/Sony; W: Peter Duncan; D: TBA) - David Harbour has booked a role on the drama pilot, about the chaotic and comedic life of criminal defense lawyer Keegan Joye (Greg Kinnear). He'll play David Potter (whom Keegan calls Harry due to his boyish looks and round-rimmed glasses), a lawyer for the IRS determined to prove he hasn't been paying his taxes. Bojana Novakovic, John Ortiz, Miranda Otto and Necar Zadegan also star in the project. (Deadline.com)
REIGN (The CW/CTS; W: Laurie McCarthy & Stephanie Sengupta; D: Brad Silberling) - Anna Popplewell (The Chronicles of Narnia) has boarded the pilot, a period drama about the teenage years of Mary, Queen of Scots (Adelaide Kane) in 1557 France. She'll play Lola, one of Mary's ladies-in-waiting - alongside Kenna (Caitlin Stasey), Greer (Celina Sinden) and Aillie (Jenessa Grant) - who has to leave her boyfriend behind to live at the French Court. Also starring are Megan Follows and Toby Regbo. (Deadline.com)
RETURNED, THE (ABC/ABC Studios; W: Aaron Zelman; D: Charles McDougall) - Omar Epps, Kurtwood Smith, Landon Gimenez and Mark Hildreth have all landed roles on the drama pilot, about a family that gets caught up in a worldwide event in which loved ones return from the dead exactly as they last were in life. The former will play Martin Bellamy, an agent with Immigration and Customs Enforcement who brings eight-year-old Jacob (Gimenez) home to his parents, Harold (Smith) and Lucille (Frances Fisher), only to discover the boy died 31 years ago. Hildreth then is set as Tom Hild ("an empathetic soul that is irresistible to women"), a preacher whose faith is shaken by Jacob's return. Devin Kelley, Matt Craven, Nicholas Gonzalez, Sam Hazeldine and Samaire Armstrong also star. (Deadline.com)
SELECTION, THE (The CW/Warner Bros.; W: Elizabeth Craft & Sarah Fain; D: Alex Graves) - British actress Sarah Winter has snagged a role on the pilot, a drama set 300 years in the future about a poor woman who is chosen by lottery to compete to become the next queen of a war-torn nation. She'll play Ashley Brouillette ("cute and perky, plainly dressed"), a young lady from the Merchant Class selected for the competition. Celia Massingham, Lucien Laviscount, Michael Malarkey, Peta Sergeant, Sean Patrick Thomas and Yael Grobglas also star. (Deadline.com)
...THEN CAME ELVIS (NBC/Universal; W: D.J. Nash; D: TBA) - Harold Perrineau ("Wedding Band") has been cast in the single-camera comedy pilot, about Henry (Eli Baker), a 14-year-old boy who watches his family - blind father Mel (J.K. Simmons), immature mom Joyce (Parker Posey), rebellious older sister Katie (Ava Deluca-Verley) and their dog Elvis - come closer together post-divorce. He's on board as Fred, "the manager in Mel's new apartment building who befriends Henry." (Deadline.com)
TO MY ASSISTANT (FOX/Warner Bros.; W: Ellen Kreamer & Sherry Bilsing-Graham; D: TBA) - Tone Bell ("Whitney") has been cast in the comedy pilot, about the assistants at a big New York law firm who band together as a family to help each other cope with the obnoxious, overbearing bosses who test their sanity on a daily basis. He'll play Davis ("gorgeous, confident"), a new laywer at the aforementioned firm who's especially taken with Jen (Brittany Snow). Said role is in second position to the NBC comedy. The single-camera project also stars Catherine O'Hara, Joe Egender, Melissa Tang and Stephen Root. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED ROBERT PADNICK PROJECT (NBC/Universal; W: Robert Padnick; D: TBA) - Eric Andre, Ellen Woglom and Josh Rabinowitz have all been cast in the single-camera comedy pilot, about four hopeful city-dwellers as they step through the endless mine field of their romantic entanglements. In addition, Kyle Newacheck ("Workaholics") will helm the half-hour. Andre will play Teddy ("schlubby tech guy, zero social filter, loves to argue") with Woglom as his girlfriend Maggie ("type-A overachiever, thick-skinned from being 'one of the guys' for too long"). Rabinowitz then is set as Hirsch ("charming overthinker, sincere and scrupulous; always strives to do right") while the previously cast Adhir Kalyan plays his roommate as Arthur. (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" co-executive producer Rick Eid has been tapped as co-showrunner of the CBS drama pilot "Hostages" alongside creator Jeffrey Nachmanoff (Deadline.com); and Bravo has postponed production on its drama pilot "The Joneses" over difficulties casting the leads (Deadline.com).
