MICHAEL IMPERIOLI SIGNS UP FOR SOME "CALIFORNICATION"

Emmy(R) Winning Actor Will Guest Star on 7th Season, Premiering in 2014 on SHOWTIME(R)

LOS ANGELES, CA - (April 9, 2013) - Award-winning actor Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos) is set to guest star in the seventh season of the hit SHOWTIME comedy series CALIFORNICATION in a multi-episode arc as Rick Rath, a successful old-school television producer who will play a key role in Hank's (series star and executive producer David Duchovny) latest venture. Production on the seventh season's 12 episodes begins later this month for premiere in 2014 on SHOWTIME.

Imperioli is best known for his work as Christopher on the drama series The Sopranos, a role that garnered him a Best Supporting Actor Emmy(R) Award, five Emmy nominations, as well as numerous Golden Globe(R) and SAG nominations. He also wrote five episodes of the series. On television, he has starred, most often as detectives, in some of the biggest crime procedurals, including Law & Order, New York Undercover, NYPD Blue and most recently on Life on Mars and Detroit 1-8-7. Imperioli has starred in more than 30 films. He made a memorable early career turn as Spider in Martin Scorsese's Goodfellas, followed by several of Spike Lee's films, including Jungle Fever, Malcolm X, Clockers and Summer of Sam and will next be seen in Lee's much-anticipated Oldboy remake, opposite Josh Brolin and Elizabeth Olsen. His other recent films include the thriller The Call opposite Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin; comedy Vijay and I alongside Patricia Arquette; sci-fi thriller The Scribbler; and horror film Foreclosure--all set for release in 2013. Other film credits include The Hungry Ghosts, The Lovely Bones, Love in the Time of Money and My Baby's Daddy.

CALIFORNICATION stars David Duchovny in his Golden Globe Award-winning role as hedonistic novelist Hank Moody who is co-parenting his college-aged daughter Becca (Madeleine Martin), while still carrying a torch for her mother, his ex-girlfriend and muse Karen (Natascha McElhone). Best friend and agent Charlie (Evan Handler) and Charlie's ex-wife Marcy (Pamela Adlon) are always there for moral (and immoral) support. The series is created and executive produced by Tom Kapinos and executive produced by Duchovny.
