Short-Form Series Features Fun, Healthy Recipes
For Aspiring Young Sous Chefs
"That's Fresh: For Kids," a new iteration of the popular Disney Junior Night Light cooking series "That's Fresh," will premiere MONDAY, MAY 6 (10:55 a.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel, with new episodes debuting every morning throughout the week. Hosted by Chef Helen Cavallo, the series encourages young viewers to play an active role in the cooking process and imparts the importance of healthy eating habits.
Each episode stars the engaging Cavallo as she prepares simple and nutritious recipes (that require no sharp objects or cooking) so that young viewers at home can safely assist their parents or caregivers. Featured recipes include Veggie Rolls, Fruit Kabobs, Trail Mix, Berry Pops and Doc McStuffins' No Bake Muffins. All "That's Fresh: For Kids" recipes are Mickey Check-approved. Foods that receive the Mickey Check meet Disney Nutrition Guidelines that limit calories, saturated fat, sodium and sugar.
"That's Fresh" debuted in September 2012 with the launch of the parent-targeted, kid-friendly Disney Junior Night Light programming block, which airs nightly from 9:00 p.m. - 4:00 a.m., ET/PT on Disney Junior.
Designed as a nod to moms and dads who are found watching television with their kids during the later nighttime hours, Disney Junior Night Light programming airs interstitially between kids' favorite Disney Junior shows. All Disney Junior Night Light content is produced by Disney Interactive Family and the block is sponsored by Babble, Disney's leading parenting blog platform.
