Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!

BACKSTROM (CBS/20th; W: Hart Hanson; D: TBA) - The drama pilot - based on Leif G.W. Persson's literary hero Everett Backstrom (Rainn Wilson), a homicide detective/equal-opportunity misanthrope - won't be getting a fall series order from the Eye. Beatrice Rosen, Camryn Manheim, Dennis Haysbert, Kristoffer Polaha, Mamie Gummer, Page Kennedy and Thomas Dekker also starred in the hour. (Deadline.com)

BAD TEACHER (CBS/Sony; W: Hilary Winston; D: Don Scardino) - The comedy pilot - based on the Cameron Diaz-led feature about Meredith Davis (Ari Graynor), a foul-mouthed, gold-digging junior high school teacher - won't be receiving a fall commitment from the Eye. The cast also included Caitlin Kimball, David Alan Grier, Kristin Davis, Ryan Hansen and Sara Gilbert with the film's screenwriters Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg serving as executive producers. (Deadline.com)

CRIMINAL JUSTICE (HBO; W: Richard Price; D: Steven Zaillian) - The James Gandolfini-led drama pilot - which follows the journey of an individual through the justice system over the course of its season - is now a go as a seven-part limited series at the pay channel. The news comes three months after HBO originally passed on the project, which has subsequently been retooled to fit said format. Gandolfini stars as Jack Stone, "an ambulance-chasing New York City attorney who gets in over-his-head when he takes on the case of a Pakistani (Riz Ahmed) accused of murdering a girl on the Upper West Side." Bill Camp, Joshua Bitton, Peyman Moadi and Poorna Jagannathan also star while Gandolfini, Price, Zaillian, Jane Tranter, Mark Armstrong, Nancy Sanders and Peter Moffat - whose U.K. series upon which it is based - are the executive producers. (Deadline.com)

NCIS: RED (CBS/CTS; W: Shane Brennan; D: Tony Wharmby) - The proposed spin-off - about a mobile team of agents who live and work together as they solve crimes in various locations - reportedly isn't moving forward to series at the network. Edwin Hodge, Gillian Alexy, John Corbett, Kenneth Mitchell, Kim Raver, Miguel Ferrer and Scott Grimes starred in the project, which aired as a backdoor pilot back in March. (Deadline.com)

RAVENSWOOD (ABC Family) - Britne Oldford ("American Horror Story") is the latest to board the "Pretty Little Liars" spin-off, about a town, not far from Rosewood, PA, which has suffered under a deadly curse for generations. She'll play Remy, "who can fit anywhere but doesn't belong to any one crowd," in the project, which also stars Brett Dier, Elizabeth Whitson, Merritt Patterson and Tyler Blackburn. (Deadline.com)

AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Michelle Ryan will recur on "Covert Affairs" as a new CIA operative with a shadowy past (TVGuide.com); and Brandon W. Jones is bound for at least four episodes of ABC Family's "The Fosters" as "a charming young man with a forceful intensity lurking beneath the surface" who shares a checkered past with Maia Mitchell's Callie (THR.com).
