PSYCH WEEK RETURNS TO DISCOVERY FIT & HEALTH
--Weeklong Programming Block Kicks-off Memorial Day--

In honor of National Mental Health Awareness Month, Discovery Fit & Health continues a meaningful dialogue on the subject with its fourthannual PSYCH WEEK, a weeklong programming event airing Monday, May 27 to Friday, May 31. With mental health programming airing nightly, beginning Monday, May 27 at 8 PM ET/PT, PSYCH WEEK will profile individuals dealing with a spectrum of afflictions and addictions, from Tourette's, sexsomnia, and bipolar disorder to autism, hoarding and obsessive compulsive disorder.
On Monday, May 27 at 9 PM ET/PT, PSYCH WEEK kicks-off with BORN SCHIZOPHRENIC: JANI AT 10, an hour-long special that checks in with theSchofield family - previously featured in two Discovery Fit & Health specials - as they continue to navigate raising a schizophrenic child. Jani - one of the youngest children ever diagnosed with schizophrenia - is now 10 and while she has had some major improvements in controlling her vivid hallucinations, delusions and violentrages, her brother Bodhi - who has shown early signs of the disease - has experienced some setbacks.
Following BORN SCHIZOPHRENIC at 10 PM ET/PT is the premiere of THIS IS AUTISM, an eye-opening glimpse into the everyday lives of families living with autism. Documentary filmmaker Louis Theroux travels to New Jersey's Development Learning Center-Warren, one of the most innovative autism schools of its kind, to meet the students and their families and experience the pleasures and the strains of these extraordinary relationships. During the one-hour, Theroux meets three families with children on different levels of the autistic spectrum: Joey, whose mother Carol is finding it increasingly hard to cope with some of the more challenging aspects of his disorder; Paula and Paulo, the exhausted parents of autistic twins who struggle to find moments of enjoyment and long to see their children involved in "normal" child activities; and Nicky, who is 19, making good progress at DLC Warren and about to leave, but the prospect of change leads to increasing anxiety and erratic behavior.
On Thursday, May 30 at 10 PM ET/PT, PSYCH WEEK continues with BIPOLAR MYSTERIES: WHERE ARE THEY NOW? This one-hour special catches up with the four families - originally featured in Bipolar Mysteries - three years later. The children include Chase, who had been hospitalized six times by the age of seven, a grandmother raising four kids diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, Samantha who was diagnosed bipolar at age three, and Kelsey who was facing intensifying social pressures as she approached her teen years.
