DAMAGED GOODS (ABC, New!) - "Awkward" creator Lauren Iungerich has snagged a pilot production commitment - complete with series penalty - from the Alphabet for a new single-camera comedy about "the sexual politics that have changed between men and women in this post-feminist era." Warner Bros. Television is behind the half-hour, where Iungerich previously inked a blind script deal. (Deadline.com)
HIGH MOON (Syfy/UCP; W: Bryan Fuller & Jim Danger Gray; D: Adam Kane) - Constance Wu has scored a role on the drama pilot, which explores what happens when Earth establishes colonies to mine the Moon's resources and discover a new form of life. She'll recur as Mikiko, "the technically savvy and sole living being in the otherwise fully automated Japanese base." Charity Wakefield, Chris Diamantopoulos, Dana Davis, Jake Sandvig, Jonathan Tucker and Peter Macon also star. (Deadline.com)
HORIZON (USA/UCP; W: Bridget Tyler; D: Yves Simoneau) - Kara Killmer has scored a role on the drama pilot, set at the height of World War II and revolving around Lauren Howl (Ruth Bradley), a secretary at the FBI who begins a secretive investigation into files that have been stamped with the codename "horizon." She'll play Anna, "a beautiful, high-class call girl who is far more than she appears." Cary Elwes, Josh Braaten, Mark Famiglietti, Meg Steedle and Taylor Handley also star. (Deadline.com)
LINE OF SIGHT (AMC/AMC Studios/FTS; W: Blake Masters; D: Jonathan Demme) - Samantha Mathis ("Under the Dome") has joined the cast of the drama pilot, about Lewis Bernt (David Morrissey), a National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigator who survives a mysterious plane crash, bringing him on a quest to discover the accident's cause. She's set as Tony's (Kai Lennox) wife in the project, which also stars Lisa Gay Hamilton, Olafur Darri Olafsson, Omar Metwally and Sarah Clarke. (Deadline.com)
NO WAY BACK (ABC, New!) - Jessica Sharzer ("American Horror Story") has booked a put pilot commitment at the Alphabet for a new drama about "two women - a suburban mother/ex-cop and a young woman from Mexico who has a deadly secret - who join forces and embark on a dangerous odyssey to find the truth and save their lives." 20th Century Fox Television-based Imagine Television is behind the hour, which is based on the novel of the same name by Andrew Gross. Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo are executive producing alongside Sharzer. (Deadline.com)
THE STRAIN (FX/FX Productions; W: Chuck Hogan & Guillermo del Toro; D: Guillermo del Toro) - Natalie Brown ("Being Human") is the latest to board the cast of the drama pilot, about the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City which is tasked with investigating a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. She'll play Kelly Goodweather, "who fails to heed her husband's (Corey Stoll) warning about the contagion spreading in Manhattan." Lauren Lee Smith was originally cast in said role. The ensemble also includes Francis Capra, Jack Kesy, John Hurt, Jonathan Hyde, Kevin Durand, Leslie Hope, Mia Maestro, Miguel Gomez, Richard Sammel, Robert Maillet, Roger Cross and Sean Astin.
