LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- TNT has pulled the plug on its Jon Tenney/Rebecca Romijn-led drama "King & Maxwell" after one season, Deadline.com reports.
The news comes despite the series being the most-watched new cable entry this summer (4.405 million viewers)*, ahead of USA's "Graceland" (3.652), Lifetime's "Devious Maids" (3.389) and Syfy's "Defiance" (3.079 million) - all of which were picked up for second seasons by their respective networks.
"King & Maxwell" likewise posted a 68% retention rate of its lead-in "Major Crimes" (6.457 million viewers), outpacing the recently renewed "Perception's" (4.946) 65% retention rate from "Rizzoli & Isles" (7.626) during the same stretch.
In any case, said development leaves "Franklin & Bash" as the only scripted question mark left to be answered by TNT.
