IZOMBIE (The CW, New!) - Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero ("Veronica Mars") are developing a small screen take on Chris Roberson and Michael Allred's DC Comics title of the same name, about "a med student-turned-zombie who takes a job in the coroner's office to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity. But with each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpse's memories, and with the help of her medical examiner boss and a police detective, she solves homicide cases in order to quiet the disturbing voices in her head." Said effort comes from Warner Bros. Television with Danielle Stokdyk and Dan Etheridge also executive producing for Rob Thomas Productions. (Deadline.com)

She'll play Mary, "a 36-year-old single mom with a 4-year-old daughter, who is a type-A financial advisor who has been unlucky in love and a hopeful contestant." Also starring are Breeda Wool, Bryan Batt, Francia Raisa, Freddie Stroma, Johanna Braddy, Josh Kelly, Megyn Price and Nathalie Kelley. (THR.com)

With the help of her hilariously opinionated sister Chelsea, her romantically deprived co-workers, and a vast array of department store clients, Poppy turns a comic yet anthropological eye on what love and sex really mean for women." They'll co-write the half-hour, which may potentially star Heche. Universal Television is producing. (Deadline.com)
