SUPER BOWL WEEK ON FOX SPORTS 1 PUTS FANS IN THE GAME
FOX Sports Unveils Week-Long, Event-Packed Schedule
In Run-Up to Super Bowl XLVIII
Wide Range of Exclusive Live Events & Specials Complement Blanket Game Coverage Anchored from Times Square in NYC
New York - Times Square in New York City is the "Crossroads of the World" and in the days before Super Bowl XLVIII it is without doubt the "Crossroads of the NFL Universe." It is from that crossroads that FOX Sports anchors its unprecedented coverage of the boldest and coldest Super Bowl ever, putting fans in the game like never before.
In the week leading up to FOX Sports' broadcast coverage of Super Bowl XLVIII on Sunday, Feb. 2, "Super Bowl Week" on FOX Sports 1 is home to more than 90 hours of exclusive live events, programs and specials, with more than 40 of those hours primarily dedicated to coverage of the game, while the rest is a variety of marquis events highlighted by BIG EAST basketball (seven games featuring eight of the conference's 10 teams); live UFC action and Golden Boy championship boxing; Supercross and United SportsCar Championship racing; a U.S. Women's National Team soccer match; rounded out by live coverage of the NASCAR Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
"Presenting the Super Bowl less than six months after launching FOX Sports 1 provides us a tremendous opportunity to showcase the network under the "Super Bowl Week" umbrella with a wide array of events, like BIG EAST basketball, UFC and Golden Boy boxing," said FOX Sports President & COO Eric Shanks. "Our goal is to put fans in the game like never before by strategically deploying all of our linear, digital and social platforms to cover the Super Bowl and surrounding events more thoroughly than any network televising the game has been able to in the past."
Super Bowl Week on FOX Sports 1 begins Sunday, Jan. 26 with nine hours of coverage from the United SportsCar Championship's 24 HOURS OF DAYTONA and a live college basketball doubleheader featuring BIG EAST women's action between Georgetown at St. John's, followed by a Pac-12 men's match-up featuring Utah at No. 1 Arizona. FOX COLLEGE HOOPS EXTRA,
game wraps and halftime breaks for the two games are hosted by Rob Stone with analysis from Tarik Turner live from the FOX Network Center in Los Angeles, CA. The Monday through Friday schedule leads off with FOX SUPER BOWL DAILY (12:00-1:00 PM ET), live from Times Square, followed by AFTERNOON HUDDLE LIVE FROM RADIO ROW (1:00-4:00 PM ET).
NASCAR RACE HUB (4:00-5:00 PM ET), live from Charlotte, retains its usual time period, as does CROWD GOES WILD (5:00-6:00 PM ET), live from its Chelsea Piers studio in NYC.
