Cruz and Stann Serve as Analysts for UFC FIGHT NIGHT on FOX Sports 1
LOS ANGELES, CA - The Ultimate Fighting Championship(R) (UFC(R)) returns to Brazil for UFC FIGHT NIGHT: MACHIDA VS. MOUSASI live on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Deportes on Saturday, Feb. 15 (10:30 PM ET), headlined by a five-round middleweight matchup between former UFC light heavyweight champion and current No. 4-ranked middleweight Lyoto Machida (20-4) versus former Strikeforce(R) Champion Gegard Mousasi (34-3-2).
According to UFC President Dana White, this fight has middleweight title contender implications: "If Machida wins, he could possibly be next in line for a title shot," said White on an episode of FOX SPORTS LIVE last week. "The thing that makes the 185-pound division so interesting and so exciting right now is Vitor Belfort is fighting Chris Weidman next for the title, plus you've got Lyoto Machida, Jacare Souza and a list of nasty, nasty guys ready to fight for the belt."
The UFC FIGHT NIGHT main card also features another key middleweight fight, with No. 3-ranked Jacare Souza (19-3, 1NC) facing No. 8-ranked Francis Carmont (22-7). Other bouts include welterweights Erick Silva (15-4, 1NC) versus Takenori Sato (17-8-7), Viscardi Andrade (15-6) against Nico Musoke (11-2, 1NC) in another 170-pound battle, and Charles Oliveira (16-4, 1NC) fights Andy Ogle (9-3) in a featherweight bout.
Jon Anik and Kenny Florian call the matchups from Arena Jaragua in Jaragua do Sul, Brazil, while host Mike Hill, with analysts Dominick Cruz, a former UFC bantamweight champion and retired middleweight Brian Stann, open the show from the FOX Sports 1 studios in Los Angeles and add updates during the fights. Veteran combat sports journalist Karyn Bryant interviews fighters in Brazil. Victor Dvila and Fabricio Werdum call the fights on FOX Deportes.
Coverage of UFC FIGHT NIGHT begins Wednesday, Feb. 12 (7:00 PM ET) on FOX Sports 1 with the UFC TONIGHT, where host Florian and guest host Stann preview the fights. Bryant and Insider Ariel Helwani add additional reports.
The UFC WEIGH-IN SHOW airs Friday, Feb. 14 (1:00 PM ET) on FOX Sports 2 with Hill hosting, and Stann and Cruz offering analysis as the 24 fighters attempt to make weight. Bryant interviews fighters during the show.
