EMMY AWARD-WINNING TELEVISION AND FILM STAR ANNE HECHE JOINS USA NETWORK'S INTERNATIONAL THRILLER "DIG"

UNIVERSAL CITY - March 14, 2014 - Emmy Award-winning television and film actress Anne Heche ("Save Me") has been tapped as a series regular on USA Network's six episode event series DIG, an action adventure drama from co-creators and executive producers Tim Kring ("Heroes") and Gideon Raff ("Homeland"). She joins previously announced star Jason Isaacs ("Awake"). DIG, from Universal Cable Productions (UCP) and developed by Keshet, in association with executive producers Gail Berman and Gene Stein of Tecumseh Productions, will shoot in Jerusalem as well as other international locations. The event series will premiere on USA Network in late 2014.

Heche will play Lynn, the head of the Jerusalem FBI office and Peter's (Isaacs) boss. She is also his only friend and occasional lover. Despite her sense of humor and soft side, Lynn is tough and isn't afraid to take her team-including Peter-to task when they slip up.

Heche most recently starred in the series "Save Me" as well as the film "Arthur Newman" opposite Colin Firth and Emily Blunt. Additional film credits include starring roles in "Wag the Dog" as well as "Donnie Brasco," "Cedar Rapids," "Birth," "Walking and Talking" and "Six Days, Seven Nights." Among her television credits are "That's What She Said," a starring role on "Hung," as well as roles on "Silent Witness," "Men in Trees" and "Gracie's Choice." Heche created the television movie "Bad Judge" and will produce the project alongside Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Jill Messick, which is currently in production. In 1989 Heche won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series and in 2004 she was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for her role in "The Dead Will Tell." She made her Broadway debut in 2002 in the critically acclaimed production of the Tony Award-winning play "Proof." Heche is repped by UTA and Untitled.

DIG centers around FBI detective Peter Connelly (Isaacs) who is currently working in Jerusalem. While there, Connelly finds himself embroiled in a race to track down a religious artifact that could trigger an event that would change the course of history. During the search he becomes the suspect in a sensational murder.
