FOX SPORTS 1 FEATURES EXCITING WELTERWEIGHT BOUT AT UFC(R) FIGHT NIGHT: BROWN VS. SILVA
Cruz and Bisping Serve as Analysts for UFC FIGHT NIGHT on FOX Sports 1
LOS ANGELES, CA - The Ultimate Fighting Championship(R) (UFC(R)) returns to Cincinnati for the first time since 2007 with UFC(R) FIGHT NIGHT: BROWN VS. SILVA live on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Deportes on Saturday, May 10 (10:00 PM ET), headlined by an exciting five-round welterweight matchup between No. 7-ranked Matt "The Immortal" Brown (20-11, fighting out of Columbus, Ohio) versus Erick Silva (16-4, 1NC, fighting out of Vila Velha, Espirito Santo, Brazil).
In the evening's main event, Brown puts his six-fight win streak on the line against the Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace, Silva, in a bout that UFC on FOX analyst Kenny Florian says features two dangerous finishers. "Matt Brown is both a finisher and has a grinding ability, which is tough for a lot of people to deal with because he has both those abilities to win and can use either of them early or late in a fight. For Erick, he has now taken his training to another level. He's always been dangerous, but with his new approach, a lot of people have to consider him as a future contender. This is an exciting matchup between two fighters who always deliver." Florian and Jon Anik call all the fights live from U.S. Bank Arena.
Also on the three-hour UFC FIGHT NIGHT main card on FOX Sports 1, former Golden Gloves boxer and current No. 10-ranked contender Costas Philippou (12-4, 1NC, fighting out of Long Island, N.Y.) returns to action against flashy Lorenz Larkin (14-2, 1NC, fighting out of Riverside, Calif.) in a clash of middleweight strikers. Erik Koch (14-3, fighting out of Milwaukee, Wis.) faces Daron Cruickshank (14-4, fighting out of Detroit, Mich.) in a lightweight bout. The Ultimate Fighter(R) Brazil season two standout William "Patolino" Macario (8-1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), takes on Neil Magny (9-4, fighting out of Denver, Colo.) at welterweight. The 6'4" Soa "The Hulk" Palelei (20-3, fighting out of Perth, Australia) faces debuting South African MMA champion Ruan Potts (8-1, fighting out of Cape Town, South Africa) in an incredible heavyweight bout. Kicking off the main card, 10th-ranked flyweight Chris Cariaso (16-5, fighting out of Tucson, Ariz.) squares off against undefeated Louis Smolka (7-0, fighting out of Kapolei, Hawaii).
Jay Glazer, former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz and middleweight contender Michael Bisping open the show from the FOX Sports 1 studios in Los Angeles and add updates between the fights. Heidi Androl interviews fighters in Cincinnati. Victor Dávila and Fabricio Werdum call the fights on FOX Deportes.
