CBS SPORTS BRINGS TOGETHER FOUR OF NATION'S MOST STORIED TEAMS FOR NEW COLLEGE BASKETBALL SHOWCASE
"CBS SPORTS CLASSIC" to Feature Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio State and UCLA
Event Debuts December 2014 in Chicago; Moving to Brooklyn in 2015 and Las Vegas in 2016
CBS Sports is bringing together four of the nation's most prestigious college basketball teams: Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio State and UCLA, for a new college basketball showcase, the CBS SPORTS CLASSIC. CBS Sports will broadcast a doubleheader in 2014, 2015, and 2016 featuring these four elite programs playing each other once in a round-robin format.
The event debuts at the United Center in Chicago, Ill. on Dec. 20, 2014. North Carolina will take on Ohio State at 1:00 PM, ET, followed by UCLA vs. Kentucky at 3:30 PM, ET.
The CBS SPORTS CLASSIC moves to Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. on December 19, 2015, and then travels to Las Vegas, Nev. in December 2016. CBS Sports retains the exclusive distribution and marketing rights to the event. KemperLesnik, a sports marketing agency, will manage the event's operations.
These four schools have combined to win 25 National Championships and are among the winningest college basketball programs of all-time.
