OLD SOUL (NBC/Universal; W: Amy Poehler, Jon Fener & Josh Bycel; D: David Wain) - The Natasha Lyonne-led comedy pilot - about a young woman who's trying to find herself, but in the meantime she's working as the aide to a group of elderly people - reportedly remains under consideration at the Peacock. Dave Becky also serves as an executive producer. (Deadline.com)
UNDAUNTED COURAGE (HBO; W: Edward Norton, John Curran & Michelle Ashford; D: John Curran) - Oscar-nominee Casey Affleck (The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford) is the first to be cast in the long-in-the-works mini-series, which "tells the story of America's first contact with the land and native tribes of the country west of the Mississippi River [and] chronicles the epic journey of the Corps of Discovery and its captains Meriwether Lewis (Affleck) and William Clark traversing uncharted territory on a mission to deliver President Jefferson's message of sovereignty as they search for his fabled all-water route to the Pacific." Director John Curran, Edward Norton and Michelle Ashford co-wrote the six-hour project, which is based on the novel by Stephen E. Ambrose and was originally set up in October of 2005. Dede Gardner, Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt and Gary Goetzman are also among the executive producers. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED JERROD CARMICHAEL PROJECT (NBC; W: Michael Pennie, Jerrod Carmichael & Ari Katcher; D: Scott Ellis) - The Peacock reportedly plans to "set up a writers room and write six scripts as well as shoot a new pilot" for the project, about a consummate optimist (Carmichael) who is eager to take on the world, but is too busy taking on everyone and everything in his small corner of it. A low-budget presentation was previously commissioned back in December with Mekia Cox as his live-in girlfriend Maxine; William Jackson Harper as his best friend Alex; Lauren Lapkus as Maxine's pal Regina; David Pressman as Jerrod's boss Steve; Mike Gray as their co-worker Bobby; and Jazz Raycole as Alex's latest crush Brenda.
