NEW YORK - May 29, 2014 - Chuck Hughes continues his trek to find some of the most unique and appetizing dishes off the beaten path, in the third season of Chuck's Eat the Street, premiering Thursday, July 10th at 10:00pm ET/7:00pm PT on Cooking Channel. Throughout the season, Chuck will travel across the South, Midwest, and West Coast of the U.S. and into Vancouver, B.C., looking for the history and lore behind some of the most popular food streets around.
"Chuck's infectious humor, along with his pursuit of travel and food, help viewers feel as if they are with him every step of the way," said Michael Smith, General Manager and Senior Vice President, Cooking Channel. "Viewers can join in as Chuck explores each street in search of great meals, the people and histories behind them. "
In the season premiere, Chuck heads to Austin, Texas, for a dose of BBQ and good times. Chuck's destination is Lamar Boulevard, with his first stop at Uchi, where he meets Chef de Cuisine Jeramie Robison, who oversees a stunning collaboration between black cod, white chocolate, and olive candy. Next stop has Chuck heading to the Odd Duck, where sous chef Sam Hellman-Mass and his crew like to have fun with their food. With Chuck joining in, they prepare the Pork Belly Slider with Citrus Cabbage Slaw that draws in huge crowds from miles around. At El Meson, Chef Marisela Godinez makes a Chile Nogada, stuffed with beef, pork, dried and fresh fruit, and nuts, using her family's recipe straight from Puebla, Mexico. Last, Chuck stops at the craft-style barbeque joint, Stiles Switch, where Lance Kirkpatrick puts the "master" in pitmaster and teaches Chuck how to stoke the fire for his famous smoked beef ribs. Join in on all the fun as Chuck visits streets across the country, including Camelback Road in Phoenix, Ariz.; Highway 60 in Lewisburg, W. Va.; and Route 9 in Rhinebeck, N.Y., among others.
Chuck Hughes is the owner and chef of Montreal hot-spot Garde Manger and Le Bremner. His unbridled passion for entertaining translates into both unforgettable food and captivating television. Chuck loves food. So much that his favorites are tattooed on his arms: bacon, lemon meringue pie, lobster and arugula just to name a few. After going to culinary school and working in some of the hottest restaurants in town, he partnered with his two best friends and opened Garde Manger to rave reviews and packed seating. Chuck is the multi-talented star of Cooking Channel's Chuck's Day Off and Chuck's Week Off: Mexico, and has appeared on The Next Iron Chef: Super Chefs, Chopped All-Stars and most recently as a judge on Chopped Canada.
