COCKED (Amazon; W: Sam Shaw & Samuel Baum; D: TBA) - Brian Dennehy is in negotiations to star in the drama pilot, about Richard Paxson (Sam Trammell), an estranged son who must return to work with his father Wade and brother at his family's gun manufacturing company after a corporate rival, run by their uncle, moves to take them over. He'd play said patriarch Wade alongside the previously cast Dreama Walker as his illegitimate daughter Tabby. (Deadline.com)


HYSTERIA (Amazon; W: Shaun Cassidy; D: TBA) - Jenessa Grant and Joseph David Jones are the latest additions to the drama pilot, about Dr. Logan Harlow (Mena Suvari), an exceptionally bright, driven, complicated, charming but socially awkward neurologist/psychiatrist at the University of Texas Medical School who travels to her hometown of Austin, TX to investigate a mysterious epidemic among high school girls that may be spreading through technology. She'll play Cassie Yates, "the star dancer of the high school team who will transform into a powerful force"; with Jones as Deante Sanstreet, "a straight A UT student and a dancer who meets Cassie and her dance teammates." James McDaniel, Josh Stewart and T.R. Knight also star. (Deadline.com)


RATED P FOR PARENTHOOD (ABC Family, New!) - Jamie Denbo ("Ronna & Beverly") is looking to bring the stage musical comedy of the same name - "an irreverent peek into the struggles of parenting in the age of parents who all still feel much closer to being kids themselves" - to the cable channel as a half-hour musical comedy. ABC Signature is behind the project with Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos of Milojo Productions also serving as executive producers. The play's creators - Sandy Rustin, Dan Lipton and David Rossmer - will receive a producing credit, as will Albert Bianchini. (Deadline.com)


RECOVERY ROAD (ABC Family; W: Bert V. Royal & Karen DiConcetto; D: Lawrence Trilling) - Sebastian De Souza and Alexis Carra have both been cast in the drama pilot, about Maddie (Samantha Logan), who has reputation as a party girl who doesn't think she has a problem, until she's confronted one day by her school guidance counselor and forced to choose between expulsion and rehab. He'll play "the mysterious, bad-boy type Wes Stewart, another patient in rehab to whom Maddie is immediately attracted"; with Carra as Cynthia McDermott, "the high school guidance counselor who discovers Maddie's problem and sends her to rehab." Caroline Sunshine, Kyla Pratt and Justin Prentice also star. (Deadline.com)


RED OAKS (Amazon; W: Greg Jacobs & Joe Gangemi; D: David Gordon Green) - Richard Kind ("Luck") is the first to be cast in the comedy pilot, set in the summer of 1985 and follows "20-year-old David Myers who takes a job as an assistant tennis pro at the predominantly Jewish Red Oaks country club in New Jersey and tries to figure out what kind of life he wants to lead." He's set as David's dad Sam Myers, "who expects David to become an accountant and who, believing he is about to die while suffering a heart attack, confesses some shocking secrets to David that make things awkward between the two going forward." Steven Soderbergh also serves as an executive producer. (Deadline.com)


UNTITLED GARY LENNON PROJECT (Showtime, New!) - Gary Lennon ("Orange Is the New Black") is developing a new period drama at the pay channel "set in 1983 and follows a rehab/therapeutic community in Venice Beach where drugs and alcohol have always been part of the local culture." Said effort is set up at Sony Pictures Television with Team Downey's Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey also serving as executive producers and Chris Mammolito as a co-executive producer (Deadline.com)


AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Molly Shannon, Chris Parnell and Yvette Nicole Brown will all guest star in USA's upcoming comedy "Benched" as Judge Conner, "a sexy, mature judge who walks the line between flirtatious and predatory"; Mitch, "a glad-handing public defender from Pasadena who consistently schmoozes his way to Los Angeles Defender of the Year"; and Donna, "a head clerk in the courthouse who is a stickler for bureaucratic rules and regulations," respectively (THR.com).
