RISING HIP HOP ARTIST G-EAZY TO PERFORM AT "mtvU FANDOM AWARDS" AND "MTV FAN FEST" DURING COMIC-CON SAN DIEGO
"mtvU Fandom Awards Special" Will Also Feature Taped Appearances by Hugh Jackman, Aaron Paul, Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort and a Performance from Linkin Park on MTV and mtvU Sunday, July 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT
New York, NY (July 1, 2014) - MTV's 24-hour college network, mtvU, today announced that rising hip hop artist and MTV Artist to Watch G-Eazy will perform at the "mtvU Fandom Awards" and "MTV Fan Fest" on Thursday, July 24 at Petco Park during Comic-Con International: San Diego. The Billboard chart-topping G-Eazy joins Linkin Park on the performance bill for the 'MTV Fan Fest" and "mtvU Fandom Awards," which serves as the ultimate celebration for diehard fanboys and fangirls to honor their favorite shows and movies of the past year. The two performances will be highlighted during the "mtvU Fandom Awards Special" that premieres on MTV and mtvU on Sunday, July 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
"I'm excited to perform at the 'mtvU Fandom Awards' this year," said G-Eazy. "The Fandom Awards are for the true, true fans out there so I'm hyped for the show."
The "mtvU Fandom Awards Special" will also feature taped appearances from celebrities including Hugh Jackman, Aaron Paul, Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, Dylan O'Brien, Holland Roden, Kat Graham and more. Additional celebrities attending the event will be announced at a later date. The awards show honors the fans whose tenacious excitement pushes movies, TV, books and comics from subculture to mainstream worldwide success. To further honor the dedicated fans of Comic-Con, the "MTV Fan Fest" will lead into the "mtvU Fandom Awards" on Thursday, July 24. Open to all Comic-Con badge holders, the festival will feature food, drinks, games and giveaways, in addition to the performances from Linkin Park and G-Eazy.
G-Eazy is an Oakland hip hop artist who both raps and produces. The rising artist recently released his new album, "These Things Happen," which debuted at #1 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Chart this past week.
Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum rock band Linkin Park released their sixth studio album, "The Hunting Party," on June 17.
