BRAVO MEDIA GREENLIGHTS THREE NEW AND TWO RETURNING SERIES INCREASING THE NETWORK'S AMBITIOUS SLATE
BEVERLY HILLS, CA - July 14, 2014 - Coming off its most-watched second quarter ever in total viewers, and ranking as the #7 ad-supported cable entertainment network among P18-49, Bravo Media announced today the addition of three new and two returning series to its ambitious roster of high quality original programming. Enhancing the network's must watch line-up are new series "There Goes the Motherhood" and "Secrets & Wives," along with a second season of "Southern Charm."
Bravo's first original scripted series, "Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce" from Universal Cable Productions (UCP), will premiere on Tuesday, December 2 at 10p.m. ET/PT. Inspired by the "Girlfriends' Guide" books by Vicki Iovine, the series follows Abby (Lisa Edelstein, "House"), a self-help book author and guru of all things family who shocks the world when she reveals that her seemingly perfect life is a lie. After inadvertently publicly admitting that she has separated from her husband, Jake (Paul Adelstein, "Private Practice"), America's once-favorite girlfriend finds her career and marriage in a free fall. As she starts to navigate life as a single woman in her 40s, Abby turns to her new divorced friends including Lyla (Janeane Garofalo, "Reality Bites"), a legendary no-nonsense entertainment lawyer who is in a constant 'War of the Roses' battle with her ex-husband and Phoebe (Beau Garrett, "Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior"), a former model and budding entrepreneur who has a very unique relationship with her ex. Meanwhile, a rival attorney at Lyla's firm, Delia (Necar Zadegan, "Emily Owens, MD"), is hired as Abby's divorce attorney. Bravo recently announced Laverne Cox ("Orange is the New Black") will guest star as Adele Northrop, a Pulitzer-Prize winning war journalist and LGBT activist who presents an award at a marriage equality gala. Marti Noxon, Vicki Iovine, Meryl Poster, Robert Duncan McNeill, Liz Kruger and Craig Shapiro serve as Executive Producers.
Recently earning its first ever Primetime Emmy(R) Nomination in the new category of "Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program," "Million Dollar Listing New York" has been greenlit for a fourth season with all three real estate agents, Fredrik Eklund, Luis D. Ortiz and Ryan Serhant, returning. Bravo's "Million Dollar Listing" franchise continues to see growth and attract a highly affluent audience as the network expands the franchise to a fourth city with "Million Dollar Listing San Francisco." The franchise ranks among the Top 10 most engaging reality series across all of cable and the L.A. and New York editions ranking as the #1 and #3 rated real estate and design shows.
"Bravo's continued success has been driven by our high quality original programming, interactive offerings and innovative multiplatform content," said Frances Berwick, President Bravo & Oxygen Media. "Our 19 new and 20 returning series underscore Bravo's commitment to increasing and diversifying our slate and broadening our appeal even further for our loyal, affluent and engaged audience."
