VELOCITY'S ALL-NEW SERIES "GARAGE SQUAD" HELPS AMERICA REBUILD AND RESTORE THEIR FAVORITE DREAM CARS

--GARAGE SQUAD World Premieres Friday, August 1 at 9 PM ET/PT--

(Silver Spring, Md.) - Across America thousands of gearheads have tried and failed to rebuild and restore their dream car. Loveable but beat up old autos sit collecting dust in garages because well-meaning owners have run out of the necessary time, money or mechanical knowhow to jump start their cars back to life. Now, Velocity, one of cable's fastest growing brands for men, is lending a helping hand to a lucky few in the all-new series GARAGE SQUAD, world premiering on Friday, August 1 at 9 PM ET/PT.

Hosted by Bruno Massel and Lauren Bohlander, GARAGE SQUAD comes to the rescue of people whose automotive projects have come to a dead end. In each episode, GARAGE SQUAD's highly trained team of mechanics and automotive experts take over a car owner's garage with only one goal in mind - getting his or her stalled project in gear and back on the road.

"Our viewers love any chance to learn from car restoration projects with experienced, respected experts," said Bob Scanlon, General Manager, Velocity. "GARAGE SQUAD features a team of top-notch mechanics, and our hosts Bruno and Lauren have a wealth of knowledge and mechanical chops to put to use. The team is not only saving some amazing cars, but saving marriages that are too often stressed by the old clunker taking up space in the garage."

In the special series premiere episode on Friday, August 1 at 9 PM ET/PT, GARAGE SQUAD tackles two iconic 1960s Fords that have sat in the garage of the Flood Family for decades. The Flood Family patriarch Chris was born in Ireland before coming to the U.S. in the 1960s and being immediately drafted to serve in the Vietnam War. The 1963 Ford Galaxie he owns is a symbol of America that he loves, but it has sat in desperate need of a bumper to bumper overhaul for several years. His son Greg has also struggled with completing the restoration of a 1966 Ford Mustang since smoke billowed from the steering wheel, and the steering wheel came off in his hands while driving it. With two iconic, potentially remarkable cars disassembled and on blocks the GARAGE SQUAD goes to work.

Upcoming GARAGE SQUAD Episodes

***All Times ET/PT

"Mopar Monster" World Premiere Friday, August 8 at 9 PM Ron, a lifelong fan of the Chevy brand, has found himself with a classic 1967 Plymouth Barracuda. For two years the Plymouth has sat in his barn, up on blocks. With Ron recovering from heart surgery and the car needing a lot of work under the hood, he needs all the help he can get to put this monster Mopar back together.

"Disheveled Datsun" World Premiere Friday, August 15 at 9 PM They don't make them like they used to. That's especially true of Jason's long-neglected Japanese classic Datsun 240Z, one of the very first off the Japanese assembly line destined for America. While this low-mileage Datsun looks okay on the surface, it has high-level problems under the hood and in the interior. Jason has dreams of transforming it into a replica 432, one of the great Japanese racers of its era, but there's a long way to go.

"Shell of a Chevelle" World Premiere Friday, August 22 at 9 PM Brian has a 1968 Chevelle Malibu that's fallen on hard times. Before Brian joined the Navy he totaled it, abused it and used it for parts. But now that he's older and wiser, Brian wants a second chance with the car. The Chevelle lies in pieces in his garage, torn down to the chassis, and it will take a miracle to get her up and running. She needs a full interior rebuild, new fuel lines, and a laundry list of details to even get her on the road. It's up to the GARAGE SQUAD to see what can be saved, what can be salvaged, and what needs to be built from scratch.

"Red Menace" World Premiere Friday, August 29 at 9 PM John has gotten in a little over his head with a 1966 Ford pickup. After winning an online auction for it he had a serious case of buyer's remorse. Now, John is wrestling with a huge exhaust problem, a suspension held together with bailing wire and a serious lack of know-how. The GARAGE SQUAD team is hoping to get this lawn ornament up and running, and put John's problems in the rear-view mirror.

"Trans Am Tragedy" World Premiere Friday, September 5 at 9 PM Mike owns a classic 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, the perfect example of a dream car that's been trapped in limbo for years. No matter how much time or money Mike has spent on it nothing ever seems to get done. The Trans Am needs a complete interior rebuild, new brakes and ignition, and a ton of engine work, and that's before the GARAGE SQUAD turns up thier game to install some serious nitrous.

"Camaro in Crisis" World Premiere Friday, September 12 at 9 PM Danielle bought a classic 1968 Chevy Camaro 327 convertible for a dream price, but when she discovered 45-year-old cars come with 45-year-old old problems she quickly found herself in over her head. The whole motor needs to come out, the wiring needs an overhaul, and the suspension, exhaust, and radiator need even more work.

"Cady-strophic" World Premiere Friday, September 19 at 9 PM For the past eight years Donna's classic 1956 Cadillac Coupe De Ville has been stashed away in a barn. Donna and her husband are classic car fanatics who have the knowledge to get the Coupe back into shape, but they are having trouble finding the parts or the time - not to mention the money. If the GARAGE SQUAD can't help lock down some very rare parts this beauty might never get back in gear.

"Triumphant Return" World Premiere Friday, September 26 at 9 PM Brian is a solid gearhead who brought a classic Triumph home from Kentucky, and had grand plans to roll-up his sleeves and bring the car back to life. Money and free time - he has two kids and a third on the way - to work on the car ran short, but worse troubling mechanical issues emerged when he found that free moment to fire it up. As Brian says, "it's the perfect car at the wrong time, and I'm the wrong mechanic."

GARAGE SQAUD is produced for Velocity by Super Genius. For Super Genius, Mat Burnett and Bill Connell are executive producers and Ted Lega is director. For Velocity, David Lee is director of production, Peter Neal is executive producer and Robert Scanlon is general manager.
