TRAINERS FORCED TO EAT JUNK FOOD WHEN THEIR TEAMS ANSWER NUTRITION QUIZ QUESTIONS INCORRECTLY ON "THE BIGGEST LOSER: GLORY DAYS" SEPT. 25
Plus, Contestants Gain Inspiration From a 'Wall of Glory' in the Gym, Featuring Photos of the Former Athletes at Their Physical Best
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - September 23, 2014 - It's a "Biggest Loser" style double-header this week as contestants compete in two challenges to gain weigh-in advantages. But it's the trainers who pay the price when they have to eat junk food every time their team answers a nutrition quiz incorrectly in the first challenge on "The Biggest Loser: Glory Days," airing Thursday, September 25 (8-10 p.m. ET).
The week kicks off at the gym, where trainers Dolvett Quince, Jessie Pavelka and Jennifer Widerstrom have a surprise in store for their contestants, all former athletes. One section of the gym has been transformed into a "Wall of Glory" featuring nostalgic photos of each player at their athletic best, which brings back a flood of emotions and memories for all the contestants. The trainers encourage them to use that wall as motivation to make 'glory days' part of their future, not just their past.
The first challenge is a nutrition quiz testing their knowledge of calorie counting. But the real price for incorrect answers is paid by the trainers, who are forced to consume everything from pizza and soda to pecan pie to bacon cheeseburgers every time their team gets an answer wrong.
The second challenge finds the red, white and blue teams pedaling wildly through a spinner bike challenge that rewards the winning team with a huge weigh-in advantage - or coveted letters from home, three weeks in when players are desperately missing loved ones. If they choose the weigh-in advantage, the other two teams get letters from home instead. After the difficult decision is made, the contestants who are treated to letters get heartwarming, inspirational messages that fuel them to keep working hard at the ranch. For one player who has been struggling the most missing her family, the letters are just what is needed to find the will to stay at the ranch.
Later, a difficult elimination after the weigh-in sends the departing contestant to Comeback Canyon for a surprise second chance with trainer Bob Harper, while the Comeback Canyon weigh-in sends another contestant home for good.
"The Biggest Loser" is a production of Shine America and 25/7 Productions. Ben Silverman, Dave Broome, Eden Gaha, Alex Katz, Joel Relampagos, Paul Franklin, JD Roth and Todd A. Nelson are the executive producers.
