IT CROWD, THE (NBC, New!) - Neil Goldman and Garrett Donovan ("Community") are the latest creators looking to import the U.K. series, about "two IT nerds stuck in the basement of a major corporation who know nothing about how to interact with people, and their newly installed, ambitious female manager, who knows nothing about computers." The new multi-camera incarnation comes seven years after the Peacock's previous attempt, which co-starred a pre-"Community" Joel McHale and original cast member Richard Ayoade. Warner Bros. Television-based Doozer's Bill Lawrence and Jeff Ingold and FremantleMedia North America's Thom Beers and Craig Cegielski will also executive produce the project, which has a put pilot commitment. RAISING ADULTS (ABC, New!) - Husband-and-wife duo Mike and Julie Scully ("The Simpsons") have sold a multi-camera comedy to the Alphabet based on the their "own experiences guiding their five adult kids toward independence, a job with no current end in sight." 20th Century Fox Television is producing. SHADOWLAND (NBC, New!) - Peter Straub's 1980 dark fantasy novel - about "two young boys, Tom Flanagan and Del Nightingale, who spend a summer with Del's uncle Coleman, one of the foremost magicians in the world, who may actually be a sorcerer" - is being developed as an event series at the Peacock. David S. Goyer ("Constantine") is spearheading the adaptation alongside Jack Thorne (The Sandman) for Universal Television. Benjamin Straub will also serve as co-producer. (Deadline.com)


SPENCER TAPES, THE (NBC, New!) - Steve Dawson, Andrew Dawson and Tim Inman - collectively known as The Dawson Bros. - are developing a single-camera comedy about "a 30-year-old college professor who rediscovers his old camcorder tapes and realizes that life hasn't turned out the way he'd hoped." Rashida Jones and Will McCormack are also on board to executive produce via their Warner Bros. Television-based Le Train Train banner with the company's Jeff Grosvenor co-executive producing. UNTITLED DAVID ISRAEL PROJECT (NBC, New!) - David Israel ("About a Boy") is developing a new comedy at the Peacock about "a guy whose world is rocked when he finds out his parents have been secretly seeing his ex-girlfriend for three years since he broke up with her, and the highly unlikely friendship he forms with his ex's fiancée." Said effort is inspired by the true story of actor Armie Hammer, his wife, Elizabeth Chambers, and film producer Gordon Gray. All will executive produce via Hammer's Mayhem Pictures banner for Universal Television. (Deadline.com)


UNTITLED JOE ROBERT COLE PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Joe Robert Cole (Amber Lake) and R.J. Cutler (If I Stay) are set to team for a new drama at the Eye about "a black Republican L.A. homicide detective who has long denied race has any bearing on him or the lives of others. He then gets a long overdue promotion to lead a high profile, racially charged murder investigation precisely because he's black." They'll write and direct the hour, respectively, for CBS Television Studios with David Brownfield and Circle of Confusion's Ken Freimann and David Alpert likewise executive producing.
