BROS (HBO, New!) - Writer Ben Cory Jones (Hand of God) and director Anthony Hemingway (Red Tails) have sold a new comedy to the pay channel about "three African-American brothers - two straight and one gay - who are each dealing with love and dating." Hemingway and Mark Taylor then will executive produce with Jones and Lena Waithe as co-executive producers. Dijon Talton, Kevin Phillips, Tuffy Questell, Dana Sorman, Nia Jervier and Kristofer Gordon starred in a sales presentation used for the project. (Deadline.com)
MR. ROBOT (USA/UCP; W: Sam Esmail; D: Niels Arden Oplev) - Frankie Shaw ("Mixology") is the latest addition to the drama pilot, about a young programmer, Elliot (Rami Malek), who suffers from a debilitating anti-social disorder and decides that he can only connect to people by hacking them. He wields his skills as a weapon to protect the people that he cares about. Elliot will find himself in the intersection between a cybersecurity firm he works for and the underworld organizations that are recruiting him to bring down corporate America. She'll play Shayla, "a hipster neighbor in Elliot's apartment building." Christian Slater, Gloria Reuben, Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin and Martin Wallstrom also star. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED JERROD CARMICHAEL PROJECT (NBC/Universal; W: Jerrod Carmichael & Nick Stoller; D: Scott Ellis) - Nick Stoller (Neighbors) has signed on to co-write the full-fledged pilot for the comedy project, "an irreverent multi-camera comedy inspired by his stand-up and his relationships with his girlfriend and family." Scott Ellis, who helmed the original presentation, is returning to direct while Ravi Nandan will also serve as an executive producer for Universal Television. Mike Pennie, who co-wrote the aforementioned presentation, is no longer attached. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED ROBERT MUNIC PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Robert Munic and Chris Morgan ("Gang Related") are set to re-team for a new drama at the network about "two estranged brothers, one a former Marine turned Shaolin master, and the other, a showboating, all-swagger Chicago cop, who come together in their hometown to form an unlikely law enforcement partnership." Munic will pen the script and executive produce alongside Morgan via his 20th Century Fox Television-based Chris Morgan Productions. (Deadline.com)
