48 HOURS 'TIL MONDAY (FOX/Universal; W: Charlie Grandy; D: TBA) - The network has given a pilot order to Charlie Grandy's single-camera comedy. FRANKENSTEIN (FOX/20th; W: Rand Ravich; D: TBA) - Rand Ravich's drama has landed a pilot order from the network. Teakwood Lane Productions' Howard Gordon will also executive produce the hour, detailed by FOX as follows: "Ray Pritchard, a morally corrupt retired cop, is given a second chance at life when he is brought back from the dead. Now younger and stronger, Pritchard will have to choose between his old temptations and his new sense of purpose."
LUTHER (FOX/20th; W: Neil Cross; D: TBA) - The network's import of the famed U.K. series has received a cast-contingent pilot order. Peter Chernin, Katherine Pope, Jane Tranter, Julie Gardner and Idris Elba will executive produce for 20th Century Fox Television, Chernin Entertainment and BBC Worldwide Productions alongside creator Neil Cross. It's detailed as follows: "Based on the format and from the same creators of the successful and award-winning BBC series. Centers on John Luther, a near-genius murder detective whose brilliant mind can't always save him from the dangerous violence of his passions."
PEOPLE ARE TALKING (NBC/Universal; W: D.J. Nash; D: TBA) - D.J. Nash's comedy - about "about a white and a black couple and examines sex, race and everything else your parents told you never to talk about" - has been ordered to pilot at the Peacock. The multi-camera project, previously reported as single-camera, also comes from executive producer Will Packer of Will Packer Productions. (Deadline.com)
ROSEWOOD (FOX, New!) - Todd Harthan has snagged a pilot commitment from the network for a new drama. Temple Hill Entertainment's Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen are also on board to executive produce the 20th Century Fox Television-based hour. The logline provided is as follows: "This close-ended, investigative series centers around the brilliant Dr. Beaumont Rosewood, Jr., the top private pathologist in all of Miami. As owner of one of the most sophisticated, state-of-the-art independent labs in the country, he finds the secrets in bodies that others usually miss. Despite being constantly surrounded by death Rosewood is obsessed with life and savors every moment. His eternal optimism will frustrate the cynical female detective he often works with, but she can't argue with the results that his unique perspective provides."
