ANGEL FROM HELL (CBS, New!) - Tad Quill has snagged another pilot order at the Eye, this time for a new comedy about "when Amy enters Allison's life and claims to be her guardian angel, they form an unlikely friendship and Allison can't be sure if Amy is an angel or just nuts." CBS Television Studios is behind the project, which has yet to specify a format. (Deadline.com)

BROTHERS IN ATLANTA (HBO, New!) - Diallo Riddle and Bashir Salahuddin are back in business with the pay channel for a new comedy about "struggling entertainers and best friends Langston (Riddle) and Moose (Salahuddin) trying to navigate relationships and life in the black Mecca of Atlanta. An Atlanta native, Langston is an aspiring DJ whose career has stalled due to his lack of focus and his get-rich schemes. New to Atlanta, Moose is a perennial backup singer with dreams of the spotlight, who keeps his foot in his mouth." The project is a new incarnation of a similar effort in 2013. Tim Story will helm the updated take which will guest star Maya Rudolph and Jaden Smith. Rudolph will play Shirle, Moose's demanding boss, "an R&B diva whose heyday was in the 90s"; with Smith as Curtis, "a New Atlanta teenager, who is Langston's rowdy neighbor with unpredictable interests and suspicious income." Riddle, Salahuddin and Story are executive producing alongside Broadway Video's Lorne Michaels and Andrew Singer, with Field Entertainment's Jeff Field, The Story Co.'s Doug Griffin and Anna Dokoza as producers. (Deadline.com)

FLESH & BLOOD (A.K.A. UNTITLED JENNA BANS PROJECT) (ABC/ABCS; W: Jenna Bans; D: TBA) - The Jenna Bans-penned drama - about "the return of a politician's young son who was presumed dead after disappearing over a decade earlier, sending shockwaves throughout their tight knit community" - is the latest to score a pilot order from the Alphabet. Mandeville Films and Television's David Hoberman, Todd Lieberman and Laurie Zaks will also executive produce for ABC Studios. (Deadline.com)

LIMITLESS (CBS/CBSP; W: Craig Sweeny; D: Neil Burger) - The Eye's small screen take on the 2011 film - about Brian Sinclair (Bradley Cooper) "as he discovers the power of the mysterious drug NZT and is coerced into using his newfound drug-enhanced abilities to solve weekly cases for the FBI" - has been ordered to pilot. Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Ryan Kavanaugh, Tucker Tooley, Tom Forman, Heather Kadin and Todd Phillips are also among the executive producers with Andrew Marcus and Ray Ricord as co-executive producers and the film's Leslie Dixon, who adapted Alan Glynn's novel, and Scott Kroopf as producers. (Deadline.com)

STRANGE CALLS (NBC/20th; W: Blake McCormick; D: TBA) - The Peacock has ordered a single-camera pilot for an import of Daley Pearson's Australian comedy with writer Blake McCormick at the helm. ABC previously spearheaded a domestic take in 2013 from writer Donick Cary and director Ruben Fleischer that was shuttered after casting issues. Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan and Hoodlum's Tracey Robertson remain attached as executive producers for 20th Century Fox Television. NBC details its logline as follows: "Based on the Australian format, an affable but down on his luck young police officer is transferred to a rural town where - with the help of a peculiar elderly night watchman - he starts to realize the town has a bizarre supernatural underbelly."

UNTITLED O'SHANNON & WARREN PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Dan O'Shannon and Peter Warren have booked a pilot commitment from the Eye for a new comedy about "a group of friends and family at three different times in their lives." CBS Television Studios is behind the half-hour with Clark Peterson, Dennis Erdman, Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum likewise executive producing alongside O'Shannon and Warren as a supervising producer. No format was specified. (Deadline.com)

VICE PRINCIPALS (HBO; W: Danny McBride & Jody Hill; D: TBA) - Georgia King ("The New Normal") has booked the female lead in the upcoming Danny McBride-led comedy, which tells the story of a high school and the people who almost run it, the vice principals. She'll play Ms. Amanda Snodgrass, "the new English teacher at Lincoln High who is idealistic and fair-minded, with glimmers of a wild side." Da'vine Joy Randolph and Sheaun McKinney also star. (Deadline.com)

AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Chris Pine, Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig and Jason Schwartzman are among the latest new faces bound for Netflix's "Wet Hot American Summer" prequel (Deadline.com); Michael Hogan will recur on the new season of "Fargo" as "a first generation immigrant from Germany who took over his father's small trucking business and, through a mix of brutality and sheer will, turned it into a criminal empire that spans the upper Midwest" (TheWrap.com); Rita Moreno has been cast as Jane's paternal grandma on "Jane the Virgin" (TVLine.com); Gary Cole's Kurt McVeigh will return to "The Good Wife" in a March episode (TVLine.com); Blythe Danner will visit NBC's "The Slap" as Virgina, "the mother of Anouk (Uma Thurman), a TV writer dating her show's young leading man (Penn Badgley)" (EW.com); and Endemol Shine North America is looking to bring a new incarnation of its cult U.K. series "Black Mirror" to the States (Variety.com).
