Jonas to Open with Epic Performance of His Chart Topping Hits on Saturday, March 28, at 8PM (ET/PT) Live from The "Fabulous" Forum
Santa Monica, Calif. - March 5, 2015 - Multitalented recording artist and actor Nick Jonas adds to his hosting duties with an opening performance of his number-one radio hit "Jealous" and Billboard Top 20 smash "Chains" at Nickelodeon's 28th Annual Kids' Choice Awards. Also set to take the stage at this year's show are hip-hop phenomenon Iggy Azalea, who will be joined by Grammy-winner Jennifer Hudson on their hit "Trouble," and Aussie pop-rock band 5 Seconds of Summer with the chart-topper "What I Like About You." The Kids' Choice Awards will air live from The "Fabulous" Forum in Inglewood, Calif., on Saturday, March 28, 8-9:30 p.m. (ET/PT). Kids can cast their votes in 21 categories across all of Nickelodeon's digital outlets - Nick.com desktops and mobile devices, as well as the Nick app on iOS, Kindle, and Android - and users will be able to vote on Nickelodeon's Twitter feed using #KCA.
"We are so excited to be nominated and perform at the Kids' Choice Awards! It's our first time at the show and it's going to be awesome!" said 5 Seconds of Summer.
Triple-KCA nominee Iggy Azalea is up for "Favorite New Artist," while hit songs "Fancy" (featuring Charli XCX) and "Problem" (Ariana Grande featuring Iggy Azalea) are contenders for "Favorite Song of the Year." Iggy burst onto the charts with the smash, "Fancy," making history on the Billboard Hot 100 as the longest-leading #1 by a female rapper after an astounding seven weeks at the top of the charts. Iggy made chart history again as the first artist since The Beatles to rank at #1 and #2 simultaneously, and her debut album The New Classic peaked at #1 on the Billboard Rap Album charts--the first for an international female artist. This year, Iggy was nominated for four Grammy awards including Best New Artist and Best Rap Album, and just recently dropped her new single, "Trouble" featuring Grammy and Academy Award-winner Jennifer Hudson, which is steadily climbing the charts. Hudson's highly acclaimed album, "JHUD," was released in Fall 2014 in the top 10 on Billboard's Top 200 and recently garnered Hudson her fifth Grammy nomination. Hudson has also been seen blowing up the dance charts with Gorgon City's number one hit track, "Go All Night." Hudson's breakout film performance in "Dreamgirls" garnered her an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, a BAFTA and an NAACP Image Award. Additional film credits include "Sex and the City," "Secret Life of Bees," "Winnie Mandela," "The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete," and "Black Nativity."
Pop-rockers 5 Seconds of Summer, nominated for "Favorite New Artist," released their self-titled debut album in July 2014. It debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and logged the biggest first-week-U.S. sales of any new artist debut of 2014. It has topped the iTunes charts in 76 countries and, in five short months, has sold more than three million units worldwide.
