BIGFOOT OLYMPICS? ANIMAL PLANET'S "FINDING BIGFOOT" HEADS TO BRAZIL FOR AN AMAZON ADVENTURE

-- Bigfoot Investigators Also Compete as Teams Canada and USA To Determine the "Squatchier" Country -

(Silver Spring, MD) - For six seasons of FINDING BIGFOOT, four fearless explorers have covered thousands of miles of uncharted territory in 38 states and eight countries on a mission to locate elusive sasquatches. On, Sunday, May 31, at 9 PM, the unstoppable quartet head to South America for the first time with the hope of finally tracking down one of the most unique creatures of the world.

In the two-hour premiere episode, Bigfoot Field Research Organization (BFRO) president Matt Moneymaker, researchers James "Bobo" Fay and Cliff Barackman and field biologist Ranae Holland are in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil to try and come face to face with a mapinguari, Brazil's bigfoot-like legend. To locate the mysterious creature, the team travels hundreds of miles up the Rio Negro and through the perilous jungle while simultaneously warding off deadly snakes and jaguars in the darkest hours of night. The team is confident its signature North American bigfoot calls can lead to a sighting of Brazil's beast.

Also in the new season, the FINDING BIGFOOT splits up to settle a debate about which country is more 'squatchy.' Cliff and Matt argue that Canada has the best potential for sighting bigfoots, while ardent patriots Bobo and Ranae assert that America is the ultimate home for bigfoots.

In the new season of FINDING BIGFOOT, the team explores the following locations:

· Florida: This is the third time the BFRO has been to the Sunshine State to find bigfoot because previous trips have uncovered some of the most definitive evidence of bigfoot's existence. Now, the team hopes they actually may find the beast.

· New York: Many consider White Hall the bigfoot capital of the East Coast, so it's not too surprising that the town boasts a law banning the killing of sasquatches.

· Maine: For the first time, the investigators head to the heavily forested Pine Tree State. Here, a visit to the International Cryptozoology Museum is just the start of a very 'squatchy' experience.

· Texas: The team has 'squatched' in Texas before, but this time, it is heading to the infamous, eerie Caddo Lake, which is where numerous horror films including the bigfoot-themed Creature from the Black Lake was filmed. The team investigates whether there is more in this town than just Hollywood magic.

FINDING BIGFOOT is produced for Animal Planet by Ping Pong Productions. Brad Kuhlman and Casey Brumels are executive producers for Ping Pong Productions. Keith Hoffman is executive producer, and Hilary Tholen is associate producer for Animal Planet.
