PATIENT ZERO (NBC, New!) - Oscar-winning screenwriter Graham Moore (The Imitation Game) and director Marc Forster (World War Z) have reportedly booked a 10-episode order from the Peacock for a new drama described as "a candid look at an outbreak that pushes its characters to extremes, revealing the best - and very worst - humanity has to offer. When a woman exhibits mysterious symptoms, she and her loved ones find themselves in the center of an epidemic with global consequences. Meanwhile, across the world, an FBI agent investigates a seemingly unrelated terrorist attack that leads him to the brink of madness." Endemol Shine Studios is behind the project, which will be co-produced with U.K. broadcaster Sky. Patrick Spence, Katie Swinden, Frith Tiplady, Nora Grossman and Ido Ostrowsky will also serve as executive producers with Jillian Kugler as a co-executive producer for Fifty Fathoms Productions, Tiger Aspect Productions, 2DUX² and Bristol Automotive. URBAN COWBOY (FOX, New!) - Writer/director Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow) is looking to bring the 1980 Debra Winger/John Travolta-led feature - which "follows star-crossed young lovers Sissy and Bud as they pursue their dreams and passions through the dust of the rodeo, the grime of the oil refineries, the sweat of line-dancing in honky tonks and the glamour of modern Texas" - to the small screen. Paramount Television and 20th Century Fox Television are behind the project, with Robert Evans and Sue Naegle executive producing and Chris Levinson serving as showrunner. (Deadline.com)
