ARRANGEMENT, THE (E!/UCP; W: Jonathan Abrahams; D: TBA) - Michael Vartan ("Satisfaction") is the latest to be cast in the drama pilot, a Cinderella story for modern times, with a dramatic and complicated Hollywood twist. The drama follows Megan Morrison, a beautiful young actress who auditions for the female lead in a summer blockbuster playing opposite Kyle West, the hottest actor of the moment. After an amazing audition segues into a dream-like first date, Megan's Cinderella story takes a turn to the bizarre when she is presented with a contract that details an entire relationship with Kyle. Megan must weigh her options and the benefits and consequences to her career and her life overall... and decide whether or not she will accept "The Arrangement." He will play Terence Hoffman, "Kyle West's producing partner, best friend and mentor." (Deadline.com)

DATES (The CW, New!) - The netlet is developing an hourlong version of its recent wrapped U.K. import, in which "each episode focuses on a first date between two people who meet through an online dating service." FREQUENCY (The CW, New!) - Jeremy Carver's small screen take on the Jim Caviezel/Dennis Quaid-led 2000 feature - in which an NYPD detective connects with his son, 30 years in the future and the two must work together to change the history of tragic events to come while also getting the chance to heal their complicated relationship - has found a new home at The CW. Said effort was previously set up at NBC in November with Dan Lin, Jennifer Gwartz, John Rickard and Toby Emmerich also executive producing for Warner Bros. Television. (THR.com)

FRIDAY THE 13TH (The CW, New!) - Craig Van Sickle and Steve Mitchell ("Tin Man") are spearheading a new small screen take on the feature franchise, about "the ongoing quest of a detective's search for his missing brother that is somehow tied to Jason Vorhees, a long thought dead serial killer who has now returned to wreak havoc in the new Crystal Lake." Crystal Lake Entertainment's Sean S. Cunningham and Emmett Furla Oasis Films' Randall Emmett, George Furla and Mark Canton will executive produce alongside said duo for CBS Television Studios. Sickle and Mitchell succeed the previously attached Bill Basso and Jordu Schell. (Deadline.com)

NOTEBOOK, THE (The CW, New!) - Todd Graff (Joyful Noise) is looking to bring the Nicholas Sparks novel-turned-feature to the small screen. Said effort is billed as follows: "This series will follow the romantic journey of the two beloved central characters Noah and Allie, at the outset of their blossoming relationship as they build their lives and their future together against the backdrop of the racial politics, economic inequities, and social mores of post-World War II of the late 1940s in North Carolina." Sparks and Theresa Park will also executive produce for Nicholas Sparks Productions and Warner Bros. Television. (EW.com)

QUEST FOR TRUTH: DUNKLEMAN (E!, New!) - Former "American Idol" host Brian Dunkleman is set to star in a potential mockumentary series at the cable channel about "the man who made a billion dollar mistake, quitting his job as co-host of 'American Idol' after its first season, and may now be a serial killer." James Roday and Ben McMillan will pen the single-camera project for Universal Cable Productions with Roday also directing and executive producing alongside McMillan and Siren Create. The sales presentation also features Ethan Sandler as Jergens, Julianna Guill as Sandy, Jack Sweeney as Toby and Vik Sahay as Vik. (Deadline.com)
