ROWAN BLANCHARD AND PARIS BERELC STAR IN THE DISNEY CHANNEL ORIGINAL MOVIE "INVISIBLE SISTER," PREMIERING FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9 ON DISNEY CHANNEL

The upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie "Invisible Sister," starring Rowan Blanchard (of Disney Channel's Emmy-nominated hit series "Girl Meets World") and Paris Berelc (of Disney XD's "Mighty Med"), is set to premiere FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel as part of "Monstober," Disney Channel's month-long Halloween-themed programming event.

The live-action adventure/comedy continues the Disney Channel Original Movie legacy in spotlighting empowering themes for kids and tweens, including the importance of self-discovery, expressing yourself and embracing your individuality. In Total Viewers, six of the top seven movies in cable TV history are Disney Channel Original Movies. Disney Channel has also delivered TV's #1 original movie telecast among Tweens for 14 consecutive years (2002-15).

Set in New Orleans during Halloween, "Invisible Sister" follows Cleo (Blanchard), an introverted young science prodigy whose class project accidentally turns her popular older sister and the school's star lacrosse player, Molly (Berelc), invisible. Cleo, who has become accustomed to living in Molly's shadow, is forced to step outside her comfort zone and into the shoes of her older sister to take her place on the day of an important game. As the sisters try to convince their friends, teachers and Molly's lacrosse team that nothing is wrong, they must rely on each other like never before, and in doing so, they gain a better understanding of one another and themselves. Meanwhile, they are up against the clock to find an antidote to reverse the effects of Cleo's experiment before Molly's invisibility becomes permanent.

"Invisible Sister" also stars Karan Brar ("BUNK'D," "Jessie") as Cleo's quirky best buddy and fellow science enthusiast, George; Rachel Crow ("X Factor") as Molly's outgoing best friend and teammate, Nikki; Will Meyers ("Bella and the Bulldogs") as Cleo's crush and science scholar, Carter; Austin Fryberger ("Kirby Buckets") as Molly's goofy but affable boyfriend, The Coug; and Alex Désert ("The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes") as the high school science teacher, Mr. Perkins.

"Invisible Sister" is directed and executive-produced by DGA Award-winner Paul Hoen ("How to Build a Better Boy," "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam"). Susan Cartsonis ("The Duff," "No Reservations") is also an executive producer. The script was written by Jessica O'Toole & Amy Rardin ("Greek," "The Carrie Diaries"), and Matt Eddy & Billy Eddy ("Teen Beach 2," "Bad Hair Day"), and inspired by the book My Invisible Sister by Beatrice Colin and Sara Pinto.

Disney Channel is a 24-hour kid-driven, family-inclusive television network that taps into the world of kids and families through original series and movies. Currently available on basic cable in over 96 million U.S. homes and to millions of other viewers on Disney Channels around the world, Disney Channel is part of the Disney ABC Television Group.
